I think Erynn makes an okay friend, if a little naïve and seems to have a really hard time telling people no. I also think she makes a terrible girlfriend for the same reasons. She falls for Ethan's shit time and time again and once she's finally realizes he's a classic douche, he's got something on her and is trapped. Of course, being the intelligent, mature person she is, she's gonna deal with it herself, and not involve anyone around her, like Melissa. Melissa knows what kind of damage a sex tape could do to Erynn, no matter the field she was trying to go into.

Alexis checking on MC after the confession was sweeter than almost anything Erynn has done story wise. Erynn showing up later to check on MC after he starts avoiding her (how much time passed?) is just her being too little, too late. Of course, we know from the letters she wrote that she did make a considerable effort to try to patch things up. It still doesn't scream romance to me at all, it's just a friend missing her other friend.

The only time I see what I'd consider romance with MC is the photoshoot, where it's a forced interaction (you make the choice as the player, but if you're interested in Erynn, you're not gonna leave her hanging here). All the other times are the MC taking a step (or the rare case early on where she makes a move and it's a huge mistake to accept it) and then getting frustrated sexually because she can't reciprocate.

But I also don't full disagree with you cause the Ethan stuff does make her seem not like a good choice for a friend or girlfriend. But when you look past the Ethan stuff and when she can just be her self than that's when I see as just as good as a girlfriend as Alexis personally. Yeah that's why I say it depends on how you look at it personally and what you value. I personally love those moments and is what makes her character so good for me. Yeah I don't count the Witcher thing as a romantic moment that her just being herself. I count the 1000 questions game ( not the first time) , driving him to school , making him food like she his is second mother those moments / scenes on the romance path or not as romantic moments with her , then of course all the the stuff that happens if you only on her path.

I was more refering to no Ethan when he returned but no in the past but no without Ethan I don't so either. Because he is the catalyst for her feeling for him if I recall correctly. Because the bad confessions got him to act out then he left. I recall a conversation or thought that Erynn didn't start to realize how much she liked the MC until he was gone.

His attempt itself was a clumsy move born out of jealousy, because he thought he was losing her.

As adults she is attracted to him, many scenes indicate that, scenes where she catches herself staring and things like that(even her first appearance back in Ep3 has been changed to show her looking at him before she notices who he is).
But she truly is scared of ruining the friendship and driving him away, last time they were in this position they spent 5 years without seeing each other.

Some friends are touchy feely people, Erynn certainly so... with her love of tickling, waking him up, kisses on the cheek...
The Witcher scene however... it may have started innocent and friendly but went into another direction until COCKBLOCKULA showed up.

It does come down to wether you like to save the princess, see the relationship growing and developing... or simply stay problem free.

I think how affected Erynn was by the MCs departure, how desperate she was to fix things... didn't land with everyone...
Maybe show her in pain earlier, in that flashback, show her crying with Melissa, beginning to write one of her letters...
We are told many times that she was in pain, but we didn't actually get to actually see it until recently...
