Trying to get my head around the age thing because a consenting adult (of age) having sex but being recorded without consent would have a very different legal ramification if it's someone underage having sex and being recorded without consent.
The second scenario would also have to include if the sexual partner is also of age or underage.
And yes, I'm basing on US laws as in game I don't recall if the city of Madison Spring is based in US or another country.

The MC has the right to tell her about it, in a reasonable manner, and act on her decision(if she decides to keep him as a friend after he explains it to her).
But he's in no position to make demands, the guy has stonewalled this person for 5 years, what right he has to come acting pissed off and start demanding answers? Like he sometimes does.
Would you open a conversation with someone you haven't talked in a long time(and is trying to reconnect) with "by the way Ethan has been blackmailing me, remember him?"
It's also clear from her scenes that Erynn wanted to tell the MC about her situation before she actually did(according to the apartment "sleep talk" she wanted to do it from day 1), it's just a difficult conversation for her, why no one else knows.
First she needed to reestablish some level of friendship and trust with this person, she wants to reconnect, but doesn't know if it'll work, he may have changed, he may still have resentment for her... she can't come around and "trauma dump" on him straight off the bat.
It doesn't take her that much time to reveal her problem, despite that fact that meetings keep going "not as planned".
They keep getting cut short... the MC sometimes leaving her apartment and conversations going in different directions then what she intended.
She meant to say something in the park but the MC wanted to talk(very agressively) about the event from 5 years ago, and then left before she could continue.
And that was what, one week (and not that many talks) after they ran into each other at the club?
Or you could understand when MC/you may have gone too far and fucked up(does it ever happen?), and show some basic common sense.
I disagree that the story is about the MC(despite by default we calling him the MC, player character would be more accurate, or even POV character), without the girls the story is just "he goes to school, he comes back home", he's important in how he intersects with the girls story.
If the MC wants Erynn to do something/cut Ethan off, he needs to explain it to her, not simply hope she "gets it" out of nowhere(against the odds, she does get it btw).
From what we know she never witnessed any physical abuse, just some examples of mockery/hazing.
Just like you expected Erynn to tell him about her plight, he needs to come out, with words, and explain it to her and understand he's in no position to make demands.
She does know that he's not ok with it, despite the fact that he never told her anything.
And she would love nothing more than to cut Ethan off, but she can't.
Then you don't understand anything about her story...
Erynn is clearly not in a good place when the game starts, it's reconnecting with the MC that inspires her to fight back and helps her grow, and in doing that a relationship might blossom.
We don't get what we want with characters/people/friends we take them for who they are and we help them along their journey through life, with our friendship and our love.
I think it's sad that you don't wanna help(you are embodying the MC right?) a loved one grow and deal with her problems.
Despite that i hope someone else shows up to help you grow.

July, August and September are the highest birth months in the USA over the last 30 years....so statistically, the likelihood of being in 'high' school and being 18 is very slim. Given generally high school finishes in may/June, too far out of the slim window to be a8 and in high school..you'd either be in the year below or already finished and left as you'd have been in the year above.
All these adult games where every single girl (and the mc) are 18 and still in school is quite frankly, ridiculous.

Regardless that's cutting it super close. So yea now we possibly have Ethan in possession of underage pornography. Even if Erryn was too close to the situation, somebody else should've easily been able to advise Erryn on that.
When MC stole his phone, he should've turned himself in and see if Ethan has the balls to claim said phone knowing whats on it.
Iris wants him to be happy, she prefers if he chooses to be happy with her(obviously), still she's even willing to step back in the name of not ruining his relationship to Alexis.
On some others, Elena truly fell in love with the MC but is split between him and Layla.
Val is more new girl, meeting new guy, something might be blossoming here but they are still playing with their cards close to their chest.
Asshole for the aggressive way he did it, he was wrong for coming at her like that.
I'll reiterate, it's good that he spoke his mind, but his agressiveness in that scene was in the wrong.
She has no relationship with Ethan other than a work relationship under coercion, which she wants to end but hasn't been able to.
Again she's trying to get it out as soon as she can, but she's meeting him for the first time in years and can't just dump her shit on him straight off the bat.

Was she a little innocent, yeah sure... But sometimes there's enough evidence in something that you know you are screwed, even before seeing physical proof.
If he comes at her and says "you had sex with Zane, in this place, on this day, at this hour... and i have it on tape", i would believe him even without before seeing the physical evidence.
She's in trouble when the game starts, this why she needs help.
If she had handled her problems before the start of the game, she would be happy, maybe in a relationship... a completely different story.
I take the story as it is, not keep wishing with a infinite amount of "Coulda/Shoulda done that" that the story was something else entirely... either you play the story as it is or you fuck off, it's this simple.
She didn't solve the problem right away, she let it fester and now she needs help... What will i do for this friend? A friend that only shows me love and care...
I'll absolutely, 100%, provide all the help i can to help my friend be happy, without any reservations.
What i won't do is keep picking apart her past mistakes and condemning her for them.
Mistakes that only hurt her btw.

You've forgiven Alexis for her mistake, one that could've harmed her friend, the guy she loves and his relationships(and as "embodyment of the MC" you are suppoused to have some level of concern for his friends).
And you told me you could do it because "it came from a place of love".
Yet you said you can't trust Erynn despite the fact that she's time and time again showed that she's full of love for the MC and never ever means him any harm, even considers bowing down to Ethan's demands to keep him safe.
Why can't you let go of Erynn's mistakes and "fragility"? Why must you pick apart what she did or didnt do? What she could have done? Why not enjoy helping her grow? Why not forgive her mistakes(that didn't even harm you) and build something new? Why you think she "must do it alone"?
And yeah, it does look hypocritical.
I honestly don't, i don't think this is a good conversation, i feel like i'm going in circles... and i already spent waaaaay too much time in it.
I think there's a fundamental difference in how i see friendships and the world and the way you do and we'll never see eye to eye.
It's unfortunate, but those are my honest feelings.

I was just saying that if Erynn wanted to friends with Ethan(for whatever fucked up reason, because she believes the hazing wasn't so bad, he "grew" as a person...) she would be within her rights.
Then the MC would be able to make a choice in response.
But they aren't friends and this is all a moot point.

To change things up for a second. I don't know how to use URM to edit text like ive seen others do. But when the MC answers the Phone during this part I lowkey wanted to edit it to say Slexi instead. so that's how I read it when I played this scene in the update

It contains bug fixes so yes. But don't download the whole game again, just download the update patch only and install it.

Almost all of the students in my high school graduating class were 18. My parents started me a year early so I was one of the only 17 year olds that year.

Huh. I thought graduating at 18 was the norm. At least thats how it was for me, and what everyone around me expected. I was treated like some exception when I graduated at 17. Was always the "younger kid" in my grade. Even in college.
