If you look at the whole thing from her perspective, you might find an explanation. With the stolen kiss the MC gave her five years ago and then his disappearance, he triggered something in her that she was never allowed to reveal openly. She was always in Erynn's shadow. On the plane and afterward, she opted for Russian roulette, using questionable methods.
Aside from the stolen kiss flashback scene it doesn't seem to me like Lexi and the MC even interacted much at all. If anything the MC was resentful of Lexi as in his young eyes Lexi and Ethan were taking Erynn away from him.
She wasn't in Lexi's shadow, she's supposed to be her best friend. Erynn clearly confided in her and most likely only her about her true feelings for the MC, but she went ahead and did it anyway.
That will be my last post on the subject though as I know that Lexi has alot of fans and to each their own I say, just be with whoever you like. You don't need to explain it. (y)

The smoothness of her route post-Erynn has me side-eyeing Nyx. Waiting for the pin to the drop. Some shenanigany nonsense has to go down at some point, right?
I'm not sure about that. It's easy to forget now but Lexi wasn't meant to be a main girl, she was meant to be a one time fuck on the airplane. With the Erynn drama and the Layla and Elena entanglement, they could be storylines that were in Nyx's head from the start, but she had nothing planned in that way for Lexi. Nikki could have had the same problem as she was meant to have been killed off, but then Nyx just has to copy and paste any long distance issues from her planned Cara route into the unplanned Nikki route.

Fair point. I figure Nyx would have something in mind, though. Kinda bland, otherwise.

Although, vanilla slice of life love story is fine, too. Not like the MC isn't dealing with drama in the rest of his life.

It's been a long time since she fought with Erynn and we had to pick between her and Layla... since then absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happened on her route, Nyx doesn't even allow Iris to cheat on her.

She was born unplanned, but the decision to make her a main character came years ago... I would say that there's been enough time to figure out what to do with the character.

Nyx keeps teasing that things with Erynn, Iris are still unresolved in the Alexis route... but they've been sitting on the fridge for years by now.
No ex-boyfriends, no past experiences that shaped her...

The only thing that had some movement is the scenario where you lie to both Valeria and Alexis, it could get interesting.

Nyx just has to copy and paste any long distance issues from her planned Cara route into the unplanned Nikki route.
I think Nikki is a lot of fun when we get to see her, but in the development of her story is also fairly slow and uneventful, just a matter of avoiding the obvious tripmines, Julia and Mira.

No, most kids aren't asshole brats and they let their moms live their lifes. Emily's free as a bird. MC's father isn't around and he's also not making any attempts to have a relationship with her. Just assholes demands the own mother has to be a nun. To be honest, I find it very odd that Emily even asks MC. He has no saying in it. Not the tiniest. Sure, I know why she did. Dev made it because of all the guys with mommy issues out there complaining about stuff like that.
Yeah I forgot the modern gereration just doesn't give a shit

No - It is an odd feeling to see your parent male or Female go on a date when either your father is still alive or gone without info.
most kids want their mother to stay the solid person she is at home or in this case at work
well both have moved on (daddy at least has, might made some half-siblings to mc by now).

Lexi's problem, to me at least, is not what she did, but what is going around her.
Actually, it's not a problem, it's just why she fails to interest me:
Layla has whole Elena baggage around, not to mention ASP, initial Alexis route and so on.
Erynn has by far most interesting story arc.
Iris shows out of nowhere and is big wrecking ball capable of ruining relationships.
Nikki and Cara are far away, so mostly out of picture.

Meanwhile Alexis has almost nothing major to her relationship.
Sure, it starts kind of rocky due to whole Erynn lying part, but after that, it's smooth sailing unless you actively cheat.
Her path is smoothest possible if player is not cheating.
Every other girl has some wrench thrown at them, Alexis doesn't.

That makes her perfect girlfriend, but really not that much fun (personal opinion) as a route.
Metric fuckton of content though.
Not to mention, her path is so separated from the rest of the storylines. You're in school with Tori Layla, Val, Elena, and Gabi, and you have Erryn's Ethan storyline with Melissa. With Nikki and Cara, you have the other town storyline. With Alexis, you have the bar, which is barely present in the story.

On the one hand, it's nice because you have a different "environment".

And the love, you have the love. Let me enjoy my time with her without drama, only love, wonderfull time and sex, of course.

I have a feeling it would've involved Ethan, and what he said wasn't an empty threat, but with the Ethan story being rushed to an end, it might not happen.

Funnily enough, the same reasons are why Layla is my 2nd favourite path, the wholesome "slice of life" moments of the VN are my favourites

I feel you on that. Intertwined has it bag of drama, sure, but there's something to be said about having some nice, fun, vanilla slice of life romance. Its made me appreciate basic, wholesome stories without any craziness a lot more.
