Erynn's sexual development is so slow and strange that you might think she's the MC's sister.
I mean, even with younger, less confident, and inexperienced girls (Layla, Cara), everything was much faster and somehow more normal.
But here, Erynn is older than Layla and Cara, she is not a virgin, she is confident in her body (she even works as a model and has no problem undressing for a photo shoot), but for some reason, the sexual dynamic is purely sisterly, where the boundaries of what is permissible must be expanded in small steps.
Perhaps with this strange dynamic, the author wanted to show that she is somehow traumatized or something... but it's done very weakly, if that was really the goal.
I wonder why even the main character himself doesn't ask himself what's wrong with her and sex? Although the MC here is not very quick-witted, he doesn't really like to think at all.

In short, an incest patch wouldn't hurt))

The MC x Erynn relationship won’t be easy at all.
First off, they both know they’re friends. If they decide to take it further and things don’t work out, they lose not only a partner but also a friend. Even if things end, it’d be hard to see each other just as friends again. It wouldn’t be ‘Hey, that’s my friend,’ but more like ‘Hey, that’s my ex.’ So it’s basically a lose-lose situation if anything goes wrong. That’s already one reason why they both act the way they do — their whole relationship feels like walking through a minefield.

The second reason is everything with Erynn + Zane + Ethan. A girl who’s been used like that won’t trust anyone. Like, literally no one. She’ll be super cautious.
It was mentioned that there are tons of people on set/photo shoots, so she might feel a bit safer — or at least pretend to. That’s probably why taking a few pictures as a model is easier for her.

(And hey, I’m not a psychologist or anything, just sharing my thoughts )
That’s why Erynn acts kinda distant or slow with her actions — but honestly, it’s totally understandable
For god’s sake, if people are already bringing up the incest patch, someone drop a meme about not being able to fuck Emily — ‘cause you just know someone’s gonna ask

I'd say is pretty obvious that she is traumatized, her first sexual experience led to her getting blackmailed and forced to do things against her will... those things leave a mark, sub-counciously she's afraid of what will happen afterwards.

It makes her afraid of commitment...
A confusing relationship already made the MC run once(her relationship with Zane also didn't end on a posistive note), she fears that something might happen and make the MC leave again...
So in her mind sticking to a simple friendship is the safe choice, as Kaskaze put it, she fears losing her friend.

The only thing I don't necessarily agree with is the part about Erynn's fear of losing a friend, she doesn't behave with the MC as if they were just friend, not for the age they both are.

She's a grown woman, open enough to have chosen a career as a model, and she's VERY aware of who she is and how she looks.

What I mean is that for me the only real reason that justifies how slowly the relationship with Erynn develops, is the traumatic situation she's in, not her past friendship with the MC, or the risk of losing a friend.

Friendzone IS a thing, she doesn't put the MC in the friendzone, she routinely jumps in his bed, she flirts with him, she's jealous of other women he hangs out with.

Going to ask, how many of you had a friend of the other sex when you were in your late teens/early 20s? How many times did they jump into your bed while you were asleep or strated changing in front of you? In the case it happened, how did you react to it and how did your friendship develop?

EDIT because I pressed send before finishing it lol

Erynn is afraid of losing the MC, but not as a friend, that's not what she wants.
