Now Elena is very conflicted as well between her bestie and MC - although we know in reality how this is going to play based on the dev morality stance. She has coded things that even when you only check our other women you get a massive cut in points in whatever relationship path you are.
It may make sense later on in the story after you've been dating Layla for a while. But there's no reason why things couldn't have been different early on. If you're someone who has always prefered Elena then you should have been able to focus more on Elena and let Layla know or make it rather obvious who you are more interested in.
Should have gone even further IMO.
But like it's been pointed out, Layla is the sort of the person who, if deferred to in such scenario, would very likely prioritize well-being of her close friend and be like, "go for it girl, i'm happy for you". So, again, i don't think the way game goes about it is really necessary or the only way this could've been resolved. Unless one wants to make it dramatic, ofc.
You don't seem to remember Maya's bedroom scene when Josy showed up and how the Dev made Tremelo go crazy angry? (Which was really Nonsensical but I digress). My point with the comparisons is that if you drop Maya for Josy or Vice Versa it creates hard feelings with other. While obviously you are not Painted in a Corner lik Nyx has done for Us here or as devastating as in Intertwined its not really cool, so avoided going solo route with Maya or Josy and kept my Harem eh I mean Throuple
I believe so to because the way Nyx has portrayed Layla, Elena and MC's relationship they are all down for ANYTHING, as long as it is together. Unfortunately right now Elena is Joined at the Hip with Layla which is how it is normally with long-time Girl BFF with certain unwritten rules agreed upon between the Two.

. It tried the Solo Elena route on a separate Save and just couldn't get past trip with Eryn before I had to go back and pick my Main Save with Throuple. It just didn't right (That was even with the Universal Renpy Mod which allows me "Tweak" my points)
