On the other topic Nyx has a "shoot from the hip" style of development, she suddenly brings in a new character and now has to include a bunch of scenes to make this character part of the story, and she goes from there... this happened>leads to that... There's perhaps a (fairly flexible) outline of where each of these characters are heading.

It's such a out of nowhere "NEW PLAN" style that it didn't even occur to her that bringing in the ex-gf she would be running into MINOR problems.

That's how we end up with all these characters, tripping over one another(some still waiting for the necessary event to initiate the romance), in different locations/groups, all needing their time in the sun...
Nyx doing a "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" style of AVN development ... Intertwinightmare

To get all the scenes/points with Val do you have to be on the Layla path at first? I vaguely remember the last time I played it was biker bro who came to help instead of val and didn't remember seeing the scene with Val talking to her mom about "he already has a girlfriend i think".

Nah if anything being with Layla will block the Val path, especially on the field trip. You have a few more interactions if you are dating Lexi when you talk to Val, you will also be at the same beach with Erynn, Lexi and Iris when Val turns up with Darryl, Tori etc. You can kiss Val a few times but ultimately she will want you to break up with Lexi before things go any further.
I generally prefer to play a loyal MC so have mostly dedicated saves for each girl, but I have tested out the manwhore paths.
Also if your points are high enough with Val she will come to your rescue instead of John (biker bro)

Guess I missed some points somewhere last time I played. I'll have to use URM and UCD to tell which variables go with what choice. just to be sure.

Not a fan on this choice design. If you only play once you won't notice it. But it doesn't make sense that if you have good relationship with Val, it's her who happens to pass by and not biker bro. Where is he in this instance? It's like a whole alternate universe and not a different choice made by MC

Cannot speak for others path's/run's on this title.
Had Erynn only (no other LI) from waaaay back.
Stuck to it with intent to see how the story plaid out.

Often do that with testing, pick one LI to the end.
Particular when i'm testing a title for myself (no request from others).
I got John on with mine.

That's selective butterfly effect. You make a lot of choices but only the ones related to Valeria can change that event, which is happening in the same place in both cases
I think most of the time this game makes good use of the butterfly effect, but this is one of the weirder ones.

John has a different schedule for no discernible reason and Valeria... was she stalking us? Because even before things went south she wasn't invited to that particular event... if we a have a "bad" relationship(which isn't actually bad/spiteful, just no interest) she takes a look and thinks "not getting involved in that"?

So i do think it's one of the worst butterflies yet, imo.
Usually there's a good logical reason, train with Layla>win the race.
Go with Nikki for a run... find Valeria also running, makes sense, that's a habit of her.
Go with Cara to the park... see Iris there, also an old habit of her.

Plus the scene just makes a bit more sense with John, since he ends up involved in that plot anyway(and the fight is about his "daughter").

I remember puma78 complaining about this some years ago. Much as I like Val, I agree that she's more forced into this scene than John. John is also forced, but it makes more sense given his connection with Erynn.

Oh definitely. The game makes good use of Val's butterfly and her butterfly effects.

Both cases are coincidences... They weren't invited, had no explicit reason to be there(John just decided to go for a ride is his bike? And Valeria was waiting for her mom?), but happened to be strolling by...
Now, i can excuse a coincidence... It just doesn't make much logical sense that which scene triggers depends on wether Valeria is interested or not.

This scene has a third variation, if you didn't help Erynn earlier, Ethan just mocks you and moves on without fight... now that variation is a logical conclusion from your earlier actions.

She doesn't like it, but that ass deserves a smack lol.
Fingers crossed that we actually get to view(with no clothes) and sample the goods this time.
