I'm just unable to figure out how liking the MC would affect her schedule that day, the game doesn't give any reasons...
Usually it makes sense, for example, we see Valeria at the beach when we go there with Alexis, Erynn, Iris... that's because Darryl and Tori invited her and she accepted, simple enough, cool.
In this occasion there isn't much reason why she's there or not, same thing for John.
"Valeria went for a walk midtown because she likes MC", isn't a sentence that makes much sense.
And John being midtown or not depending on wether Valeria likes us makes even less sense.

only thing that I can think of is Valeria was always around during that scene ( off screen) and arrived maybe a minute or so before John . But on the Val path she is willing to put herself in harms way to protect the MC and the other just turns around and walks away. Not sure if that would make any more sense but best I can come up with lol

My reading would be that Valeria and John are close by in all scenarios, Valeria can see MC get into the fight with Ethan but John can't (he's close but doesn't have line of sight to MC and Ethan).
If Valeria likes MC then she immediately runs in to defend him without thinking about her own safety. If Valeria doesn't like MC she isn't going to risk her own safety to protect him but also doesn't want to see him get seriously injured, so she looks around for the toughest looking guy she can see (who happens to be John) and tells him what is happening.

Isn't suspending disbelief a big part of playing these fictional stories? I wouldn't bother getting too caught up in the logistics or reality of it all. Personally I've always seen her jumping to the MC's defense as a nice little added touch on a Valeria path run. She is gorgeous so I won't complain about a few extra scenes with her.

Honestly I do unless it's beyond stupid like a certain MC not knowing the difference between a red bell pepper and a tomato ( i'm not even joking). Only when it's brought up in a conversation like these I think about it . When I play the game I suspend disbelief for sure, I don't got time to think about every little detail as I play a game that would take the fun out of it.

yes thx to some asshole who told to patreon that there are 3rd party patches which make landlady as mommy and roomie as sister etc.
I am sure this has been asked to death and I apologize if it annoys anyone, but I suck at searching so figured I would ask. I didn't see a harem tag so is that not a possibility. I am something like 8 hours in (maybe way more kind of got lost in the game) and at first it seemed like it would be huge harem then it was a path ending here and a path ending there (choosing between layla and lexi was probably my hardest choice so far). I was hoping at the least Lexi and Erynn, but if I had my real choice I would add Valeria to the mix (layla to of course but seems that ship has sailed). I am headed down the Valeria path right now but afraid it might end Lexi and or Erynn so any information would be appreciated. I also don't care about spoilers so if you need to tell me spoilers to answer I am cool with that.

Patreon don't care about third party mods. They care about "mods" and "patches" which simply trigger ingame variables to unlock incest content. They're not as dumb as some devs thinks. But that doesn't stop the devs from constantly passing the buck to Patreon when Patreon bans them from the platform. However, I've never met a dev who admitted that they thought they were really smart and thought they could bypass the Patreon TOU and failed. It's always Patreon's fault, never their own. Self-criticism among devs is in short supply. Patreon allows more than many players believe based on devs claims. But Patreon can't be fucked with.
