I never seen Gabi's name come up with Nathan(and trust me she was in quite a lot of those saves
).It's always Nikki/Cara... that Nathan already has prior knowledge, with some combo of Erynn, Alexis, Layla, Val getting discussed.
Iris name comes up in the park and the dialogue changes depending on how many points you have.
Low it's just remembering the photo and getting Nathan up to date with Iris and John living in MS, with high there are questions wether the feelings are still there and the "never broke up" thing comes up.
I don't think she's gonna die, young girl murdered midtown in the middle of the day would've had repercussions.
It's not something easy to hide, Rachel was an adult slut without many connections, it took a few days until people questioned her last employer.
Val has a mom and a dad(whom we never met but we know he lives in town) and is a HS student.
Adriana would already be informed(and questioned, not as a suspect btw) as school principal, she would probably be a wreck about something like this and so would Layla.
And Ethan wouldn't be chilling at a club 2 days later, also his reaction to Zach bringing her up can be described as "that's gonna be a little awkward"... I know he's a jackass but that's waaaaay into sociopath territory if he just killed her.
She most likely ran away(she's a sprinter after all), maybe got a few bruises.
I agree, there's so much detail and effort being put into showing girls being jealous of each other, wary/scared of potential threats... friends being split on what to do... this all gets lost if you play strictly loyal.
Playing solo can have it's endearing moments... but overall, meh

My question mainly about the meta though, as nyx said Val be dead at the end, which is hard to believe tbh, is this the point or are we getting closer to the end etc. If it's not close to end though, then definitely not going to happen this soon.
Btw, I think Ethan is a sociopath, on the dangerous side too. When he shift, change direction, lie, manipulate etc. he makes my skin crawl.

This happened right after we leave her, 2 days pass after that, our mom should be rushing us to the burial ceremony as soon as we arrive.
Adriana and others also would be aware.
There probably would be peace walks around town and everything.
Even dumbass Zach would get the news...
Also Nyx says a lot of stuff just to get a rise out of people, you need a good filter with her.

C'mon now, how many times has Nyx provided a drama filled cliffhanger only to resolve it five minutes into the next episode? It's part of her writing style, it gets people talking.
Val will call MC back and it'll be something along the lines of "Sorry, I bumped into Ethan, kicked him in the balls again, and then was getting my nails done so I couldn't answer the phone."

I'm guessing you are looking at images and didn't actually read the scenes? They don't make out in any way, shape, or form. This image was from a scene where MC accidentally kisses Emily. Emily turned her head expecting a hug when MC was trying to kiss her cheek. Both characters talk about it and MC has his dramatic "I'm going to die of embarrassment" performance.
However, if Emily buys the motorcycle the MC can kiss Emily on the lips. Again no make out session, read more as 'out of excitement for getting a motorbike from mom'. She teases MC with his "I'm going to die of embarrassment" performance , from above, perfectly.
Is a kiss on the lips incest? Then I guess a lot of parents and grandparents are committing not only incest, but also statutory rape, with their younger kids.

Because Nyx didn't change the build number in the options, so after building it outputs as v0.13. Doesn't matter it's still v0.13.2.

This kind of ties in with my thoughts on it. Same with Riona from elsewhere - if Val is killed here, it will have a big impact on a good number of the main characters. Suddenly you're going to have everyone's mood changed, you're not just going to carry on as normal, doing all the same things as we've seen so far in the game (and it's not Val-path reliant, either). It could be done, of course, but I just don't see a game like this taking such a turn (unless possibly right at the end, as the actual finale, so you don't have to really see the change). Plus whether it's because of that change, or because of getting rid of a well-liked character, there'd be the sort of backlash that most devs would specifically try to avoid.
Characters who have basically no contact with Valeria can be shocked for a minute and be ok the next time we meet them, this applies to Erynn, Alexis, Iris...
The whole school section however would be really shitty if everyone just got over it quickly, and started setting up the next dates and hang outs immediately, you would have to account for how her death would affect the girls that knew her well, and the professionals that work there.
Killing her hurts the game in more ways than simply removing a fan favorite (she's winning another popularity poll on Nyx Patreon btw).
And that's ignoring the problem that had she died people around town would've heard it already 2 days later.
Specially Adriana, being the school principal, and Layla/the Monroe family by consequence.
And of course Valeria is involved in other storylines, players quite possibly torched their Alexis/Erynn relationships for her... only to get this as a payoff.
And then there's the fact that she doesn't always have this meeting with Ethan, Nyx would just make her own life waaaay more complicated with this split, having to basically do most school scenes twice, one where everyone is happy and life goes on, the other where everyone in school is sad.
The last time we had a death, Rachel the sturdess(everyone suspected Erynn at first), it was at least a canon event that couldn't be avoided... and no one except Emily knew Rachel, and even Emily wasn't close to her, it was just someone she hired then fired in a couple of weeks.
Coworkers that "liked her" got fired too.
Every "meta" fact points to no big consequences for that encounter, just a smashed phone, maybe a couple of bruises to raise the stakes a bit?
