That bit was weird to me, because it didn't really feel like he was a friend of hers, more an acquaintance (or annoyance...). Certainly not someone I'd expect her to shed a tear over not being friends with anymore.

Val said to the MC while on the bus that she will always be grateful to Zach, he was the first one to be friends with her when she came to the school. We saw how even Layla pretty much blanked Val when she tried to sit next to her at lunch.
Anyone who has ever moved to a new area or a new school will know how difficult it is to make friends in long established groups. Even if she has the advantage of being pretty and that's entirely why Zach would have approached her in the first place.
She was then introduced to the MC, Layla and Elena by Zach, then became a part of the group on the bus and while at the track meet.
So I feel like she feels like she owes him at least her friendship and to not simply blank him without some kind of explanation.
She may even feel partly responsible for the breakdown of the MC and Zach's friendship. Even though we know what went down and that it was no great loss, Val doesn't, she just knows that you fought and that you aren't friends anymore due in part to Zach's jealousy over her.
I think that Val may end up feeling sorry for Zach and try to build bridges between the MC and Zach.

I remember a scene of her talking about him before(after he did some typical Zach disrespectful shit), how she appreciated him for being her first friend in town, introducing her to others like Layla and MC... but sometimes he is too much.
The relevant point is that, flaws and all she still appreciated him and considered him a friend.

For me this is obviously very naive on Valeria.
Zach wasn't being a good friend, he was just a creep trying to get in her pants and this was his approach.

Both fair points that I had forgotten. I was only really remembering the hitting on her part of it all!

I am finding myself always choosing the "nice" or friendly choices, which makes me involved with too many LIs. I think that's because I am not liking my IRL behavior lately, where I am generally grumpy, disagreeable, and angry.

I think the main thing that it will effect is maybe with the relay and result. If you only pushed Zach and Darryl, TJ, Tori and also the girls stood behind the MC back that up, he will be allowed to return to school after a day or so.
This will allow him to properly train with the team and they will win. If you punched him he will stay suspended for the full 3 days and they won't win. That's my theory anyway.

Punching him is one decision i'm not changing, i'll live with the consequences.

I play a flirty/friendly MC, because the dialogue is very fun, generally funny, and doesn't necessarily mean anything more than fun, until suddenly it does. Mira, I think, is the only questionable decision that I intentionally made, because the history there is a bit heartbreaking, and she, like Layla, is so sweet, without the innocence issue.

It really sucked breaking Nikki's heart like that, and her comments stung like a mofo. Frankly I didn't feel right being with Nikki anymore, because my MC is so serious with Lexi.

I honestly don't think it will change anything significant about the suspension, at least that's my thinking. Nyx would need to do heavy branching and develop two completely separate routes, one where he is in school and one where he isn't. At most I think it will be different dialogues/scene variations.

I did a mix of both depending on the path. Tho I kind of punched him on Val's path thinking Val didn't see Zack as a friend anymore as I thought she knew he was involved with that fight with Ethan. I pretty much only didn't punch him on Layla and Alexis paths cause didn't want to upset their mother more than needed to.

For me breaking up with Cara because of the Mira thing hurt way more I found it even worst than the Layla heartbreak

I'm great at the solo "pure" runs. It's being a scumbag/manwhore that I struggle with. While I know that this is only a game and noone is really getting hurt (apart from the player) I do still care about the girls. It's a consequence of the immersion I guess and getting to know them for so long.

I'm surprised I have less of an issue with scumbag saves in this game every other game I don't like to even sleep with another LI if it isn't their save. I mean this game does a good job at making me feel like a piece of shit but kind of makes me look forward to seeing those scenes because the emotion in them are so well done.

kind of why when I redo my saves im only gonna do the scumbag ones im actually interested in the others can wait. I think for now my only Scumbag saves I will do Alexis and Erynn , Erynn and Iris , Nikki and maybe a Cara one when we get the update when they come into town.

Yeah, we get so intimate with them, learn their personal issues and hopes, the game does a good job making us feel guilty for taking a clear scumbag move(like lying to Nikki), it gives me pause at times.

To do the full scumbag i need to "get in the zone" , beforehand, full horny bro mode.

I've created a system where i just make splits, rather than doing a entirely new save.
For example i'm already planning a split on the Melissa decision, one save splits into 2.
When i play the second one i'll fast forward through a lot of things that will be similar between the versions, only Melissa-Erynn stuff will be where i slow down and pay attention.

It saves a lot of time.

I think that the very heavy branching in this game is it's biggest success but also it's downfall. Also a lack of forward planning when it comes to the girls and their paths "intertwining" which is obviously one of the most important parts of this VN.
I'm still not sure why exactly breaking saves is necessary this time, which makes it even worse. Iris is only a side girl and the last episode where you decide to hook up with her or not should decide your interest in her romantically.
I know that this is more complicated on the Lexi path as she won't fuck the MC, just kisses him. But that should be enough to get the ball rolling with her IMO and give her enough points.

Do you guys still thinks deaths will happen? with the Ethan stuff being wrapped up sooner I kind of get this feeling the Deaths either won't happen anymore or if they do it won't be anyone i'll lose sleep over other than maybe John
