This continually astounds me. It seems like some people think having someone release a video of you having sex is absolutely fine - unless you're in/trying to get into a career where it would be a bad look. Regardless of your job or future prospects, it would not be a good thing for someone to release such a tape of you. Anyone in that position should be outraged by it, and want to do everything in their power to stop it. Reputation is a real thing, dignity is a real thing. My only issue is how the story portrays that in the time frame from when blackmail started to when MC arrived(2-3 years), Erynn hasn't tried anything proactively to get the situation resolved.

Tried to analyze the different between her 'being a victim"(not actively working against it) vs "someone who is being victimized"(doing everything in her power to stop it, even if unsuccessful)

More of a neutral point in my opinion, the MC doesn't even go to Melissa's house to talk, just stays with his mom.
Had he gone there and simply left "see you tomorrow", i would agree with you.

For an actress it doesn't really hurt their careers, it's a career that already relies on them being famous and sexy.
Lawrence eventually decided to bare it on the screen too(it may have been a "it's out there already" choice).

For a model it also wouldn't hurt her future prospects, might even enhance...
But after working with Ethan, i think Erynn isn't that much into modelling anymore(maybe if MC and Erynn keep getting booked together this will change), she just wants to become a teacher and forget this ever happened... and this career choice is a particularly bad match.

I thought the choice was for a young man to see his mother going out with another man - not his father and as such she would leave the choice to you - so if you say yes , then she does and if you say no she doesn't - Simple and straightforward.

John isn't his father and in the scene you get the choice it's obvious she was talking about John I think you forgot something in regards to that choice.
