Respect on what reason? He leaves Emily and the Mc for his new family with two kids then cheats his new family to another women. Well isn't he's a piece of shit I don't think Emily nor Haley is the problem here, the whole problem is Andres himself who can't stay for one family and leaving his family like nothing. He's actually no more better than Santiago himself which another piece of shit fucker. I'm not actually going to be surprised if these two fucker are siblings or something.

To be honest, I've never found "the punch" that impactful on the story level

That is probably because its immediate impact depends on if you care about pursuing Nikki/Cara. And then Andre basically being written out until he recently came back.

Gotta figure the Punch will have some sort of effect on the Andre storyline. So it's narrative impact is about to come in play now... I think... Maybe.... I dunno.

Like i said before, MC "dare" to sleep with her step-sister in her parents house, and also dare to creampied them . So, Andres and MC are not that different actually, they just similar on the fucked ways. On the side note, Andres take care MC seriously even after he and Emily separate.

I'm a big proponent of "father is the guy who raises you", so i'm somewhat pro-Andres.

The fight he had with the MC was a bad day for both...
He goes to see his son and there he was banging his (step)sister... On the day of Andres wedding.
People don't like it, but Andres had good reason to question WTF is going on here?
And the MC instead of apologizing went straight on the attack, firing back and accusing him of cheating, then the subject switched to Emily... Santiago... tensions got higher... shitshow all around.

As sudisudimagi said, Nyx perhaps tossed him under the bus a little too hard, to the point of straining believability...
No one is that commited to "revenge" that he puts his whole life on hold to do it.
At some point, an early point, Andres must've began to feel something for Emily and the kid.

I think his recent comeback and apology helped showing that, he really does care for the kid, and it was a nice scene

It happens all the time unfortunately, a non bio parent puts in the hard work and then bio parent comes along when they are grown and the non bio parent is pushed aside and ignored.

As this is my first playthrough I actually didn't have any idea why you were hating on Zach that much, now that I've come across Zach x Ethan scene, I wholeheartedly agree Zach is a piece of shit
