This is how things are in the game currently. So unless things are changed with the rework...just do some math.

it's not like patreon cared about it even before the retcon. Or the incest shit that was hinted at for much of the lifetime of the game.
As for Iris, yeah, Nyx can say whatever she wants, unless she completely reworks those flashbacks and some more of the script, we all know he was underage there. He looks fucking 16 at most. And it's not like it's actually illegal, just showing it in media is.

The tone is already set. There is no reason for the additional scene when it changes nothing about their relationship.

Going with this logic there's no need to have any further interactions in the game -- the tone is already set, so why bother with anything that changes nothing about the relationships, i.e. merely continues them?

Why would Nyxx have to make sure that patreon doesnt mistake his characters having underaged sex? Are you serious? Patreon has an issue with such things. Hell, patreon has a problem with people in high school in these sex games.

Show me these places that make it clear that MC is not 21.

I'm serious because like i said, the game is already full of instances which make it clear the MC is not 21. So you are expecting Patreon to only pay attention to a single, throw-away line in the game but somehow ignore any and all instances to the contrary? Come on, you have to realize how utterly dumb such expectation would be. You think the author is this dumb?

She's not "acshually 21 just held back multiple years" there. And the MC is also said to be younger than Iris in the same sequence. And then they proceed to have sex. Things may be subject to change soon, we shall have to wait and see. This was Nyx's response when she came here a few months back, while we were discussing the topic.
Not really sure quite how she is going to change things without it having a knock on effect for the rest of the game. The easiest solution for me was always to remove the Iris lewd scene and fade to black.

The official info about the game changed a long time ago. It says MC is a young adult (his age isn't specified anymore), then the time he was away also changed to an uncertain time but more than 5 years.
In the game, MC mentions he is 18 before he meets Iris. Also the time Iris and MC are together has been changed and I might make a slight adjustment in the script since I'm redoing it anyway. I'm not gonna say how long they've been together, just saying it has been a while. so it's up to the reader to interpret however they like.
I was already in contact with Patreon, they know about the scene, they played the scene and told me it's fine and there's no need to change anything. No rules are being broken.
