sorry, just had to vent for a bit. I feel like this game has a serious problem with massively overcompensating when it wants to force the player to have a specific opinion about certain characters.

For example:

I feel like every one of these storylines (and more, i didnt want to endlessly ramble) would hit so much better if the dev was willing to let the characters be greyer and let them make mistakes even if you're meant to like them, and be capable of decency even if you're meant to not.

like the fact that Erynn was happy to hang out with MC's bully, even on their birthday and doesnt even seem to remember
I don't think Erynn was aware how Ethan acted towards the MC. The bullying only happens when it's Ethan and MC alone.

She says straight up "Why do you always bully him, Ethan?" during the flashback, so it's definitely something she's aware of, and that has happened before.

Even if Erryn did laugh at him, which would make no sense, dude literally put her on the spot. Emily shouldve stopped him and at the very least advised him on confessing in private.

Well some of these things have been discussed a lot over the years but I will say:

Erynn: They were kids when this happened and as kids I don't think she understood that it was bullying, in my head I think that's something she understood what was really happening later over the years, she's not without blame because it's not like she actively tried to stop Ethan, but I wouldn't blame her like Ethan either. I actually do think it's more believable that she didn't have sex with Ethan, that guy is way over his head.

Alexis: I actually don't think the game excuses her much, it tells you how it is and you can choose to shut her down for good, even you can fuck with Layla if you are specially vindictive...

Emily, Santiago and Andres: Yes it's a mess, their whole relationship was a mess which is the point of their story, there's a lot that's been discussed over the years and everyone has different interpretations on whose blame it is.

Erynn is the dumbest character in the Story , it got to the point that i just laugh at her dumbness on every scene.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
when they were on the beach , i was waiting from Erynn to start singing "CAUSE I'M A BLONDE yeah yeah yeah ! " :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

for some reason the Erynn character feels like was based on Julie Brown from the movie "Earth Girls Are Easy"
here is the video in case you never have seen the movie

Well, from what i've read, the dev is female, so it makes perfect sense. She writes it from a modern women's lens, and they can do no wrong and arent accountable for anything. I think its also why most women are portrayed as good or made a mistake, but the MC is forced into many scumbag choices or situations where he always end up being the asshole because of no choice given.

As for what you said, i agree with Eryn. She laughed at the MC, because yes, a 16y girl getting proposed by a 13y boy is ridiculous. Instead of just reject him politely, she does what modern women do, humiliate men. Also, the whole rando boyfriend thing. Its easy enough to just say she wanted to try sex, it is allowed, and she didnt like it because the guy hurt her and was a dick and she dumped him and now is wary of men and sex, problem solved. Lets be honest, she would not have waited for the MC for 4-5 years for him to grow to plow her and take her V card. By what we saw, they were friends and thats kinda it. She never showed any sexual intentions towards him. She even reveals the first time she touched herself to him was at the pool after he came back.

As for Alexis, its just another drama BS. she said Eryn liked the MC but never showed it or intend on it, just said it. She saw the grown MC in the plane, found him hot and wanted him, and thats it. You snooze you loose. I didnt like Alexis because the reason she's in the game is because the dev needed a slutty character to have early sex scenes with, as you cant rely on randos and dreams long term in a relationship drama type game, but you also need sex scenes to have a payer-base. And i dont like as much the slutty gives sex right away girl types.

As for the mom, i completely agree, that is BS. She was a hoe and a cheater, but the dev tries everything and bends backwards to make her the victim. She deserves no sympathy. That Andres dude should've dipped right away after she ignored his boundaries. You dont meet and keep comunicating with your ex, like ever, unless kids custody. Massive red flag, and proven right as she indeed cheat.

As for Andres, i feel like with what it seems most males characters in this game, she wrote him with extra asshole included, as if extra asshole > asshole, so is disregarded instead of both being bad. He HAD to be with her as revenge on Santiago stealing his girl, he HAD to ALSO be a cheater on Nikki and Cano's mom. Just look at the black dude, the one with Tori, hes protrayed as a dick and a womanizer that screws everything that moves. Zach becomes that rapey vibes pervert with no class. The MC himself as little agency on most choice to not be somewhat bad. The only male character in this game that seems fine is the MC friend in that other city.

I just think the game is very influenced by the devs worldview where man bad and need to be chivalrous to get girls, but womeen are modern and can do whatever they want risk free.

This is a funny take when MC gets quite a few opportunities to call out girls on their bullshit (or what he thinks is bullshit) and either break up with them over it, or not to engage in the first place. How's that not being held accountable?

This is an AVN telenovela where everything is overly dramatic and every storyline is intertwined

I don't think only women are portrayed as good or making mistakes in that regard the game gives drama to everyone.

That being said I am curious if the rewrites of next version may change some perceptions.

Clearly a player's worldview can also affect how they experience a game, just as much as a Dev's when creating it.
We all make our own interpretations, of any creative work, that's pretty much how art works.

For Intertwined I haven't really played enough of the paths, or often enough, to comment much on the girls' behaviour, my heart was captured by Layla early on and she is without any blemish. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer though. :)

erryn's more naive than dumb. Likely used to the world kissing her ass cuz she's pretty so when ethan did what he did, it threw her off, hence the basic isolation and trying to solve the problem herself. She's evolving but it'll take a minute.

Alexis is no more slutty than alot of women in this story, MC went along with it, does that make him a slut?

Emily just lost for her son for five years and was on the verge of losing him again, so in desperation she painted Andres as the bad guy whether it was deserved or not.

I wouldnt say andres got with emily as a fuck you to santiago, I just think he didn't want Emily around santiago and he agreed to raise the kid on his own without issue, nobody's perfect so of course he'd have some faults.
