Valeria is a life saver for me. Erynn ticked me off to a point I actually shutdown anything to do with her. Whether right or wrong I did picture her as an escort (didn't bother me). The other ladies just didn't appeal to me. The game is so well written, every move I make, I'm just waiting for the next rock to hit me in the head. Because the LI will be tied in with somebody else.

i think you mean Erynn but everything from this point forward is just my speculation.... so basically bullshit:

Erynn as not had a single sex scene when the Original plot was a fight between her Layla and Diana (the flight attendant) all other characters were supposed to be dead ends or side stuff!
that includes Cara being broken due to her sister unfortunate accident!
Alexis was just to add flavor to the MC and Erynn reunion!
Diana was dropped due to being a camwhore
Erynn story line was all rewritten after Nyx saw what an Anti-ntr crowd can do to a game!
it appears to me that the entire Erynn storyline was the MC being the white knight showing up and saving a girl from an oppresive relationship where she was being sexually exploited!

in one of my mythical fights with Nyx where she basically called me all the names in the book and then came up with 2 or 3 originals i pointed out that the way Erynn was presented she was not so innocent her clothes her car her apartment (while she had a chance to live in the school dorms or with her mother...) basically her entire lifestyle screamed living beyond her means unless she was a true escort!
afterwards Nyx toned down the story where Erynn is just arm candy and her "manager" former "boyfriend" became an inconsequential useless corrupter... it is still to be shown if Erynn is the only one or if the idiot has other girls doing the "arm candy" job!

another plot point (which once again was a mythical battle where i was derided beyond the reasonable amount... imho) although this one was not changed but polished was if Lexxi was a slut or not... so Nyx made a few changes both to the story and to the renders, on the new images Lexxi totally checks out the MC when meeting Laykin, instead of just watching him from 20 meters away, so this change was Lexxi checking out the MC from 2 meters away after he fucked the shit out of Laykin (if you fucked the tattoo artist Laykin!). plus ofc now the MC was Lexxi 1st kiss!

finally the way Diana the flight attendant (and i might be wrong here) was totally discarded!

Meanwhile Alexxi´s was promoted to main love interest in a story that is actually organically perfect!

just remembered another mythical argument i had here with Nyx... this one she clearly won and was totally right... was that Emily was a bad mother for how fucked up it was that she had not planed a birthday party for the MC, Nyx stated the party was planed for the weekend and shut me up... not going into that one again!

but Erynn as been dead in the water ever since Nyx understood that the anti-ntr crowd would not forgive her having fucked around for whatever reason!

i prefer a proper script but Alexxis was an amazing development that was not originally scripted, but Erynn´s model was like super hot but Nyx can not advance her story or make her work with the new constraints that she put on her!

If i comprehend this correct in reguards to Erynn.
The options given few times to "End route of Eryn".
May be there for more motive then diveristy of choice,

Chance their not really going to 'be' together(BF/GF).
Perhaps being pointless continuing her path?

It didn't become obvious until much later that none of them we're ever going to be a proper LI, it honestly felt like a bait and switch, something the dev wanted to add to draw more people in but never fully utilize, which in turn is why i along with many others have given up on the game.

TLDR: If you want MILF's look elsewhere.

It didn't become obvious until much later that none of them we're ever going to be a proper LI, it honestly felt like a bait and switch, something the dev wanted to add to draw more people in but never fully utilize, which in turn is why i along with many others have given up on the game.

TLDR: If you want MILF's look elsewhere.

So, this is an outside perspective coming from someone who played the game through in v0.5 and only recently picked it up again (AND hasn't followed development): BUT you are clearly 100% right.

Anyone saying Melissa wasn't initially advertised as a love interest is out of their minds. She's on the banner for the game here on F95. One of the Patreon tiers is named after her. And 4 of the 16 images used to demonstrate the looks of the game (I.e. 25%) contain her. It's blindingly obvious that she was initially supposed to be another love interest, but has now been relegated because if the MC fucked her it would make just about every relationship implode...

On a different topic: I actually wrote a review for Intertwined back when I last played it and, like I say, have just picked it up again. I have to admit I'm actually really struggling with the story for it now. I think I said at the time that the game felt very melodramatic (nobody ever talks to each other and so many problems could be avoided if people acted a little more grown-up). I guess that might be the point, it seems like the aim might be to have the game basically feel like a soap, but at this point it's really making it difficult to play. I'm actually really struggling to even like a lot of the main characters right now...

A particular example is how the MC's mum acts all "woe is me your father treated me horribly and my life has been terrible" but it's constantly glossed over that she literally cheated on Andres and got pregnant with another guy who then didn't want anything to do with the baby (and yet Andres is the bad guy for sticking with her??).

It also feels like you have to pick a girl at the start and then deliberately avoid getting involved with the other girls for the rest of the game (and it really hammers it home you are a bad person if you don't do that). Obviously it's not advertised as a harem game, so maybe that's on me? But the issue there I feel is that VNs like this encourage you to see as much of the content as possible in one playthrough, and deliberately AVOIDING content with 95% of the characters just feels ridiculous.

I'm ranting a bit, and being pretty incoherent, but I think my point actually again comes back to how this game is initially presented versus how it pans out. It feels initially like you are encouraged to bang as many of these hot babes as possible while they are thrown in your lap, but now by update 0.6 (I haven't even got to chapter 7 yet because I'm just struggling so much with it) it feels like you get punished for engaging with that. Very frustrating to experience.

This is all your opinion and no actual facts.
I know for a fact that the dev didn't create the banner, nor did she put the preview pictures here, nor did she put the tags here. Those were all created/chosen by the moderator who created this thread. Asking the actual dev of this game helps a lot if you have questions.

Okay, so perhaps the problem is to do with how the game is presented on F95?

Because... It IS a fact that Melissa is highly advertised on here. It is ALSO a fact that she represents a Patreon subscriber tier, which on its own implies that she would be very important in the game. Plus, as Malicre said, she has a pretty prominent role in the early chapters of the story which implies she would remain important.

As to how I know Melissa isn't a LI, I'll be real I guess I don't? I'm simply going by the discussion that preceded my comment which seemed to suggest that she was basically being written off as an LI? Plus, from a story perspective it would be insane if she was given that at this point the main LI's are all people Melissa is very close with?

Maybe I'm missing some context. Like I said, I actually played the game back in v0.5 or something and so hadn't touched it since like 2020. So I'd forgotten a lot of the story aspects.

Just based on what happens in chapter 0.6 though, it felt kind of outrageous. Like the mum was getting a pass for what felt like pretty shitty behaviour, while the "dad" was being blamed a lot for it.

Like you say, maybe I'm forgetting something important there though.

I completely get you re:Melissa and re:Melodrama. It wasn't at all incoherent.

But this here is my greatest fear for this game. What these games forget is to add a friend path for the girls you're not going after. You just need to basically turn your back at them and say nothing too friendly.

In 0.7 it didn't bother me yet – you could get with a different girl at each part of the game, with easy drama-free "exits" like with Alexis at the pizzeria. No consequences yet – easy playboy life. However when the consequences come from the earlier paths and you want to get a "perfect" run, you need to basically chase just one and as you said avoid the majority of the content.

THAT is when I fear this game will lose its fun-factor for me. Hope not.

I personally never felt like Melissa was a LI, I also didnt start the game because i see her on it, so im not sure what he was talking about. I look at the tags at the start of every game to see if harem is there, if its not i will always assume messing with everyone will not happen, but before you choose someone ofc you can mess around a little and see who you like, if i play a game and then realise i want someone diff or i messed up i just playthrough again trying to get the one i want.

i didnt feel like i had to choose someone too quick, i messed around with alexis on all playthroughs at the start whether i picked her or not and you get to have either cara or nikki, sure you need to make decisions like if you want to go off with erynn or stay with your friends but they're points you can make back with erynn if you chose to go with your friends..

when it comes down to people getting "strung along" thinking its harem or incest when there is no tags saying it is its not really on the dev at all, its on the player for not checking. You say you find it hard to go along with the story and thats cool, not every person will like every game.. id say if its not for you after playing most of the game then its likely never going to be for you.
