The PC hasn't been without girlfriend or at least fuck buddy since he was 15 or 16yo according to the flashbacks. Even if the player rejects Alexis, it's pretty much canon that for the PC this would be the exception rather than the rule. I think he said he was in a relationship with Iris for two years and he claims to have had 5-10 partners, if I remember correctly. That's some weird math for one, but also a strong hint about the PC's character.
The PC may be hung up on Erynn, but he was still living his best life regardless and there's no particular reason for why Alexis couldn't be part of it. She's basically a stranger to him and he doesn't even remember that she was his first kiss. She has more of a claim than all the other 5-10 strangers and if Erynn didn't matter when it came to hooking up with them, why would she matter for stranger nr. 11?
Getting mad about Alexis' betrayal only makes sense, if the PC gets mad for Erynn's sake. But it's not like he was expecting to hook up with her and the only thing in their way is Alexis. Even after reconnecting he doesn't really make a move and it's Erynn instead who has to take the initiative.

Changes nothing when first starting EP1.
Iris "Girlfriend" content didn't show up until last update, EP9.
And who said he 'has' been without a GF?

He was not with anyone outside of Erynn on my play through.
So that point is irrelevant from my standpoint.
Alexis was not forthcoming, manipulated, lied and pretty much been a rotten self seeking So Called friend.

Justify her dishonesty all You wish, changes nothing at all.

Well then at least see it that way: if everone in Intertwined would always tell the truth in every situation it would be a boring ass VN. The drama is part of it's charm imo.

EDIT: ps...for the record, life has drama regardless of everyone telling the truth. There is no escaping Some Kind of drama, in life.

He's talking about the truth or dare game where the MC is asked how many girls he's been with, i think the answer stays the same regardless of your choices. Probably just an oversight on Nyx's part.

Case and point, any given' choice made in favor to NOT getting MC involved with any other outside of Erynn.

The guys that defend Alexis should also be able to understand Erynn's situation, but apparently Lexi is the only girl able to make mistakes and be forgiven because "she's in love with the MC", while Erynn doesn't get the same treatment and is almost seen on the same level of scumbags like Ethan.

No choices in the game get you around Iris. The PC's relationship with her is canon.

Nyx decides to make a 'flash back' with Options/Choices to chose Differently(like with Niki and or Cara, per se).
