I have nothing against ai cg personally. The only reason I ignore them currently is all the ones I have seen cant actually make good content outside of naked pics with nothing going on. Whenever they try to make sex scenes they suck due to the limitations of the ai.

AI can make a tremendously awesome dick.

For some reason it cannot make a decent vagina.

I'd wager to say it's because the art it's cribbing from has also never been able to make good vaginas. AI is suffering because artists are just not doing it consistently well.

The artists of yesterday have failed the AI of tomorrow!

Also, consider that there is more than the United States legal system in question here. South Korea is taking a pretty hard line stance on the issue if their reaction to deep fakes is any indication. I think the actual jail time penalty for it is steep.

Trump/the US just signed a bill making circulating likeness without consent illegal - this one had pretty bipartisan support so its hitting the ground fast, basically there were massive issues of (fabricated) revenge porn style things going on & it was put in place to address that. Not sure how the fallout would be with copying porn-stars etc. because you still wouldn't have their consent?

One of the big things they said at the press conference was that there is now a rapid take down notice law, so if its posted somewhere and they are advised they now have to act fast upon request or get hit with penalties.

I don't really have a problem with AI generated images for indie games. The reality is there would be far fewer games if it wasn't an option.

Lots of people can code or do graphical work. Not that many people are good at both.

In general though games featuring LLM's and generative AI both pre-scripted and interactive are going to be a niche but they are definitely coming.

There's several point about AI generated images that make me think it's not that big of a deal.

I think people would be fine with AI CG if the art looked like a human drew it, and compensated with better gameplay. At its current state, beyond looking at the tags, its easy to tell AI art from real art.

I disagree about making it look like a human drew it. The AI's strength comes from it's ability to do what humans can't artistically. It's weakness is its sameyness currently. People making AI games, imo, should focus on hyper-realism even if the style is surreal or abstract...OR, if they want to go anime, or even 3d, they should work on establishing a unique style that doesn't look exactly like the other 92,000 entries.

This is sort of how i feel too. If i can tell it's AI CG before confirming it with the tags or from a dev statement, that's the style i hate most. If you make an AI CG game where i had no idea then you did it right IMO.
