GOG is (from what I've heard) more interested in games who have a few thousand Patrons, finished games or at least with a good visibility on Steam.
As I said, that's only what I heard.

It will be worth a try at some time, but for now I've enough to do with Patreon/Subscribestar and Steam.

You won't find a game under the steam store price anywhere.

Patreon is a bit special, as it's considered supporting the dev, not getting the game.
itch, GOG, sure you can sell there, but not under the Steam price.

Damned if you, damned if you don't. Set the price to low and you might not make enough revenue off it. Set it too high and it might not sell well. The way Steam is going looks like I will slowly being moving over to GOG in the future.

You could always undercut prices either on GoG or the other places. So, if game is 15.99 on Steam, you can do 9.99 on GoG and you'll still get more in return than what Steam is stealin from you.

exactly why I said I might be wrong, just discussing the topic. Also he is not discussing this particular topic with steam, it's about some of the content in the game they have problems with

I'm too lazy to look it up right now.
In short, Steam has a "best deal" guarantee, so that alone will forbid selling it cheaper.

I'll post it some time, for now I need to change the lights and env in 50 renders. Daz is so much fun...
