Anyone? Like someone who's posting in this thread the first time?

i can't tell how many people like the special renders, except for the likes they get. And I'm not talking about the likes here.
I've explained several times why I do them, like it or not.
Apart from that, the "seasonal renders" were artwork for the Steam sales. Yes, unbelievable, this guy makes some renders for marketing and spices them up for what could not be released on Steam.

So if you don't like them, fine.

Guess what?
There are a bunch of special renders ready. The idea was born on Discord.
But you don't need to check them

Arrogant... as in, a post someone makes claiming special renders aren't what people want and are "irrelevant" to those supporters who have specifically requested and paid (at a higher tier) for them?

True, when i look at his Patreon i see Posts about anything irrelevant but actual Status updates. I doubt anyone wants to be flooded with "Special" Renders and a bunch of Text just to avoid the obvious, unfortunately he's not the only one going this Path.

If a developer needs to make more money to pay bills but their game isn't currently giving them enough to live off of, special renders are a way to do that. Assuming they are only allowed ramen and macaroni to subsist upon because "Where's the update, damn it!" — seems pretty unreasonable... one might say, even arrogant.

Oh I dunno, as I recall he handled that really well with his whole "I did not have sexual relations with that woman!" speech. Some folks actually believed him and his definition of "sexual relations".

I don't want this to devolve into politics, so as a disclaimer ahead of time, if anyone does some whataboutism or brings up other politicians or similar, I won't be replying to their comment(s). But the BJ Clinton got is still a national embarrassment, and that dude's like 1500 years old now. There's a reason artists like Eminem kept mocking him at least as late as 2013 ("Rap God") if not later (can't remember Clinton specifically as a target on The Death of Slim Shady offhand, for example).

I don't have any problem at all with BTT trying to earn money via special renders, especially since that's explicitly advertised for the $20 tier and above. I have every faith that he'll finish the next update whenever he's able.

It's not about the amount of posts or views, but the feedback. Here or or in private.
Players underestimate how important this is for a dev.

I've always said "my game, my story", but that doesn't mean I won't listen to constructive feedback (and criticism).

It's the same like above.
Most supporters subscribe, don't say anything. Stay if they like it or leave if not (or for more personal reasons).
I have really tried to get into mind reading, but so far without success. So without feedback there's not much I can do.

I am really grateful for a small but very loyal following and the people who believe in me and support me.
And this it looks like if people "talk".



Again, I agree that my communications had been better before.
But posting something every week just to post something doesn't help anybody and people will complain (oh, wait, they did already) about "useless texts".

Everyone who wants to participate is invited, people who pop up out of nowhere and demanding or implying something... Well...

Again, I'm not saying the update went well by now, in fact it's a disaster.
But it's like I always said: It's done when it's done.

I have neglected the news and will change that for Patrons and Steam users.

It just doesn't make sense to write ‘I've re-rendered the scene for the 4th time’ every week.
Or "I learned some more Blender tricks".
Or "I hate AI, but it could help".

Or giving a "how much is done" when I don't know what will be in the update.

Well, special renders should be that, special. I mean there is no reason to keep them lore friendly with the main game. Let your imagination fly, make Isabella in Space and the such. Last one I remember was Isabella-Noir and that was well received here at least, Idk about other sites.

About the development pace and the difficulties of this update. Shit happens, many devs start strong but at some point they find themselves with writer's block or some other creative block. The thing is this is a game in progress, not everything has to be perfect from the get go. You can redo things later once you have feedback for it.

I won't make enough money to justify what I'm doing, no matter what.
Funnily the high Tier Patrons never asked me for a special render.
So special render ideas are born on Discord, in private or public channels.
Or in DMs with a "special" supporter who likes to test and push my abilities *sigh*
I like it!

Most of the special renders are done for marketing.
I use the already set up scene to create some more interesting renders. Steam and Patreon don't allow explicit renders, but as the scene is already set up, why not create some more renders?

Ragnar has a point though, like always.
Some not game related renders are a good idea.

And while I'm trying to justify what I'm doing, if you can, please leave a rating if you purchased Isa at Steam.

The general rating is calculated by positive/negative reviews and the overall numbers and some positive ratings would change it from "positive" to "very positive".

Which will affect the Steam algorithm.
