Well the original scope of early access was to put the final customer into the development loop to provide sensible feedback and also (for smaller devs) to give a much needed cash injection.It's in early access. There are 1,000's of dead games on Steam in early access.
If early access turns out to be just a gambling game where people throw in some money hoping to see a reward one day, then it defeats its original purpose and makes things worse for everyone. For dedicated indie developers who badly need money to finish their projects and for customers who would like to see a better final product. When enough people will turn their back to early access because they've finally learnt it's a waste of money, it will be a loss for everyone.
