Used the URL and the download link, both came negative from virustotal. So, I think it might just be because it's a cracked game that windows defender is flagging it.

Yeah, that is one of my gripes with this game/vn. I think it's because the creator used the basic settings of Tyranobuilder, which isn't the case for most Renpy games.
