I'm curious why that is. Tattoos have existed for a very long time and can be done without any specialized equipment. Hell there are even methods where people do it with bamboo instead of needles. Not arguing i'm more just genuinely curious why that presents such a conundrum for you.

ha ha, fair enough, because among all the other nonsense it was just genuinely funny to me to see a woman covered in tats which are plainly the most cliched work of a tattoo shop on any high street anywhere, being on a remote island and claiming never to have heard of men. It's not about tattoos per se so much as those tattoos. I don't want to make too much of it. It's all very silly anyway. And we all have our own limits to suspension of disbelief.
