When is MW3 supposed to come out? I read in this thread a while ago that it would be at the end of this month, so could it come out this weekend?
it was suppose to be out like 3 years ago almost now, but its been delay after delay after delay after delay after delay, so expect another delay within a short period of time then maybe in the year 6551 it will finally come out

Here’s a breakdown of my production progress for the month of September:

Shot 1: 14.27 seconds
Shot 2 (multi-cam/combo-shot): 50.2 seconds
Shot 3: 7.5 seconds
Shot 4: 10.5 seconds
Shot 5: 0.75 seconds
Shot 6: 21 seconds
Shot 7: 11.5 seconds
Shot 8: 4.5 seconds

Final Total: ~120.2 seconds (or 2 minutes 0.2 seconds) (this total only accounts for new animation, not re-renders or refreshes)

Notes:
This was a mixed month overall, with a fair amount of both progress and setbacks. It started off strong. I filled in a large missing section of animation, and pretty much all of the "gaps" in the intro and worked straight through new animation work until I hit the one chunk that still needed voicework. I had all of the lines written, and I had a lot of it already recorded, but the flow wasn’t quite right so I knew I needed to sit down and finalize some revisions for that section, then prep the directions and reference audio for the VAs. At the same time, I had a list of other needed retakes across the project. Most are off-screen, or dubbed over existing shots, so they fortunately don't actually impact my upcoming workload. During this time I also reconnected with my primary composer to start scoring the existing footage. I sent him about 11 minutes of animation and prepped a few page write up to explain which themes we were using and where. While prepping scripts and the composer cut, I spent time updating the lab and pool scenes to match my current animation standards. Several minutes of footage was corrected and re-rendered. All in, the scripts, rerenders, and composer write up ended up taking around eight days total. It was time-consuming but absolutely necessary.

On the voice front, both Claire and Rebecca’s VAs got back to me quickly, and I received their performances within six days. The only setback is that Damon’s VA is still MIA and will need to be recast. He also voiced Cole Mabel, but that is an issue for another day. Damon's lines aren't much of an issue since he barely speaks and his lines were already planned for the end of production so that he could bounce his VA work off of Claire's VA work.

Later in November, I also finished purchasing all the parts for a third rig that will handle the remaining MW3 renders. At this time, a few days before sending out the scripts, I started feeling unusually tired—sleeping 10–12 hours a night—and later found out I had caught COVID, likely in lab. Recovery has been slow, with a lot of brain fog that’s made planning new shots difficult. In the meantime, I’ve been focusing on refreshing more older shots and prepping a few more minutes for render once the new rig is ready. Now, the only intro scene that needs any substantial focus is the first and oldest one.

Despite the setbacks, I actually feel good about where MW3 stands. Transitioning into the final stretch felt like turning a cargo ship, I’ve had to coordinate four different people (three VAs and the composer) remotely while trying to keep everything cohesive. That’s a big difference from my usual shorts, where I rarely need to reach out to more than one person for retakes.

Remaining Work:
With Claire and Rebecca’s lines 100% complete (and Damon’s soon to follow once recast), the main task ahead is finishing the last 4 minutes of animation. Those sequences also already have their base action in place, with all of the non face angles rendered already. I’ll also be refreshing the oldest intro scene (about 1.8 minutes long, though less than half will need full re-animation).

The current runtime now sits at roughly 37 minutes (a 2-3 minute increase from last month) without title sequence or credits.

Taking my recovery time and the recent non-animation work into account, I’ve adjusted the estimate by about two weeks. Hopefully I don't have to keep shifting it any more.

Completion Estimate: ~24th of November 2025
