I've only read the brief description and looked at the preview images. I'd like to say that I'm not a fan of the general hatred of AI.
I think it's good that they dared to move away from the old engine, as the graphics were long outdated. I wouldn't judge whether AI or another engine would be the better choice, as both have their advantages and disadvantages. Here, I think it's good that they're trying to maintain a style that you don't see in every other AI game. After one or two updates with hopefully expected additional content, I'll give it a try and possibly write a review.

I get the point about AI having potential, tho they must draw a line. AI should be used to help create something great that a dev cant realistically afford from artists, in addition if you’re using AI that’s trained on other people’s stolen work, then at least make sure the end result is good enough to justify it.

In this case, the art is so poor that I honestly think even hiring a budget artist could have delivered something better and still been affordable. If you’re going to lean on AI, the outcome should be worth it, otherwise it feels like a lazy shortcut.

Preamble: I am for the usage of AI to create images and graphics. I don't call it art because now that AI exists and works great, the word "art" has to be redefined as something that takes something more of human essence in order to b e created other than training a model, finetuning it and then prompting. Still, I do hope that AI image, sound and code creation is evolved even further to the point where all of video game creation uses it, even if that makes some people lose their jobs, because it will be overall beneficial to a bigger portion of humanity.

This game: Is bad when it comes to the usage of AI.
1. The same image repeats endlessly.
2. There seem to be different artstyles used not only from character to character but even between images of the same character.
3. Apart from the different artstyles, there's also lack of consistency of how any character is depicted.
4. Images also suffer from the typical AI problems that, afaik, we've solved by now: badly generated fingers, eyes, melty skin, etc etc. All of these should have been inpainted and dealt with in post-processing. I am unsure whether the dev isn't aware of how it works or they simply don't care enough.
5. The trivia (which is the reason I wanted to try this game) are nice but they also repeat and end up being boring (you need at least a hundred questions per subject to make it feel better, not just a dozen). As a person who's studied neither outside of the general high school courses, biology seems to be of elementary level whereas geometry fluctuates between easy and "I was never taught that tidbit". Of course YMMV and it also depends on what your country teaches at what point. I'd suggest the devs to ask Grok or ChatGPT to create the questions, but to also add to the prompt difficulty level based on "what US public school teach in x, y, z grade" so that there's a smooth curve.

I'm more of a lurker and I don't normally post, but I was pissed off when I realized how deceptive and unrepresentative of the game the images used in the opening post are. The game doesn't really look like that.

This needs a lot of attention and for the dev to go back and fix the majority of the game's images.

I thought this was Taffy Tales the style art but learning it was made using AI .. I am quite impressed.
