Mainly becuase it is always a risk to make porn games with a character canonically below 18 taking parts in sexual scenes. It feels kinda weird for me too, especially cause the age of consent where I live says that anyone above 14 is fair game, but even tho I'd be allowed to bang Ruby IRL, I am not allowed to give her the canon age in this game
EDIT: also, keep in mind that Ruby is not my OC. She belongs to other people that can decide whether or not they consider my game something that "stains the reputation" of their IP, which is a conclusion that they are less likely to come to if any character portrayed is not legally an adult

You will get the beard back one day. I mention this at the beginning of the game and also on my patreon page, but basically, there is a choice at the beginning of the game. For now, you can only pick the first of two option and that throws Ironwood back in time before the events of season 1. Once I am done with this portion of the game (or sooner than that if I get enough supporters) I will give you the possibility to pick the second option, which will send you only to the finale of season 7 and Ironwood will, of course, have his beard in that one

I mean, one thing alot of devs do is make ages editable. Or some even create patches that changes the age or other questionable aspects (Incest games do this alot). And from the look of things it would mainly be Patreon that would have the issue. Itch doesn't care as far as I know (there are several straight up loli games on itch). Subscribestar is another site that doesn't outright make a fuss about it either as I know of several loli games thriving there as well.
Edit: This wouldn't change the "Ruby being stacked" aspect though. This would be more a choice of the artist though, cause even season 7-9 Ruby wasn't this stacked. And she IS 18 (if my math is right?). Feels unnecessary given that Yang is already stacked so you don't NEED big breast rep, and Weiss being flat shows that you could have Ruby be 18 and be on the smaller side. So Ruby being that stacked feels more like overcompensation for the age thing.

Yeah, but again: there is not just the problems of either patreon or any other site kicking me out, there is also the fact that this character doesn't belong to me and that Viz media might be against the idea of a <18 character getting sexualized

I mean, that just is the risk of making a porn parody. I don't see how the age of the characters would make that higher or lower. Honestly having a price tag other than free on this game would run a higher risk of getting it dmca'd. (Not to say don't have a patreon and make money, that should be fine. But if you put the game itself behind a paywall that i a good way to get it hammered down.)

About her body proportion: this was mainly a mistake on my side. With this being my first ever experience not only creating a video game, but also directing a project, I had many oversights at the beginning of the production, including not giving the artist proper indications. They just did their own thing with body proportions and I green lit this. Now for future versions of the game, I am going to pay more attention to this (we are currently beginning to work on the NSFW scenes for the next version of the game, ironically)

That makes sense. Plus Ruby is one of the more medium built girls so it is harder to nail her proportions right (At least, that is what my friend who has played with the idea of making a RWBY trainer game told me.)

No that should be fine. Honeslty I doubt viz or another big company would even notice a porn parody unless it gets BIG numbers. Going back to a previous statement, a patch would be the best solution in my opinion. ESPECIALLY if "someone else" made it and it was just linked on the first post (but not the patreon. at least that is how I've seen others do it.)

Yeah, you are right. I was already thinking about adding similar patches anyway, because patreon also sees incest as a big no-no and my game in future version will have a lot of occasions for Ironwood to assist in some...sisterly bonding with two of his teammates, if you get what I mean

Nice. I have the biggest love/hate with this show, and the music carried a lot of the love. Ironwood got done so dirty in the Atlas arc. At least he can take some wins in this.
We need a properly depraved harem/ntr/impreg/corruption/etc. RWBY game someday, I feel I've yet to see one. The show is literally built for it lol. We just need more RWBY games in general, I guess. Thanks for your contribution, and best of luck.

I do wanna know how "On Rails" this will be. Will it be strictly VN in that you only get a couple of text options and is mostly story. Or will there be a bit of sandbox element to it where you can move around and interact with people and story elements at you own pace? (I've seen some games with VN tag that have sandbox elements, thus I wanted to ask. I prefer more sandbox than on rails personally, but I am weird like that.)

It's a bit of both: the game begins with a classic VN structure that serves as an introduction. Then, you get to a pseudo-sandbox section of the game where you can go around and interact with the various girls. This sandbox-like section of the game is not meant to progress with the main plot of the game, but rather to get you to interact with the girls and proceed to get to know each of them individually. Then, once you have gotten all the possible interactions in the sandbox, you will get the possibility to progress the story and that will happen in the form of a classic "on rails" VN. I don't know how claer my explanation was so let me put it like this:
-Beta version of the game, released almost a year ago: it was like half a hour of straight up dialogues, with choices that wouldn't alter anything about the progression of the story, just the immediate reaction of the characters to what you choose to say
-Version 0.1.0 and 0.1.1: a tiny bit more of continuation of that linear VN segment that completed the "introduction" and then you are off to the sandbox, where you are free to roam around Beacon academy and interact with Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang, Penny and Pyrrha, shaping your relationships with them permanently.
-(soon to be released) version0.2.0: I will add the possibility to temporarily end the sandbox segment that was present in version 0.1 and the story will progress as a linear VN for a while. Then you will be free to roam around again, except this time with new interactions and new girls. Once you have seen everything there is to see in this version as well, another linear VN segment of the game will start and I will keep going like this until the story is complete

I will mention though that Ruby is around 17 when Ironwood "dies" so if this takes place right after that but timey wimey shenanigans happen to keep later volume designs, you can just pull from Volumes 8 & 9 for art references if you ever decide to do an art revision.
I keep telling people Subscribestar is just as valid if not more. They have legal protections put in place that are similar to fan fiction sites.
Patreon dicked themselves over when it came to their policies by not putting in the proper protections and now they basically get bullied into whatever a company tells them to do. Same thing happened with YouTube.

"Yeah, I know things look bad right now. But this is temporary, we're only redirecting resources from Mantle for a little while so that we can begin the process of killing the genocidal witch intent on exterminating everybody."
"Hey guys, thanks for bringing the important Relic to me. Have your dream jobs and help me protect Mantle so that nothing too bad happens in the meantime, alright?"
"Oh shit, Salem is immortal? And she's here right now?! With an entire army!? Alright, everybody lock in. She's after the Staff which is on Atlas, we've already evacuated a fair amount of Mantle, maybe if we retreat we can survive for a little while longer and come up with a better solution then."
And then the ending of Volume 7 where he shoots Oscar for no goddamn reason and Volume 8... jesus christ volume 8.
Nothing he does in that volume makes any sense. I mean, nothing any of the villains do makes any sense, but Ironwood specifically. In every scene, he just does whatever makes him look the most evil to the viewer, regardless of whether or not it supports his actual goals of acquiring the Relics and surviving.
And my god, the fandom. The fandom. It'd be hilarious if it weren't frustrating enough to make me want to cry. God forbid I disagree with anything the creators do, or else I must be some kind of bootlicking bigotted asshole out to personally destroy Roosterteeth like Doomguy destroys demons. The delusional bullshit I've seen, man.

Okay, the breakdown helps alot. So there will be several "sandbox" sections in between linear story. That is a pretty good set up. Sandbox enjoyers like myself get to play a bit. And the people that enjoy VN get their bit as well.
I mean, you could always pm it. In honesty I am happy to see more RWBY games in general. Felt like there was always a huge lack of them. Especially given how much NSFW exists for RWBY.
