I don't know Steam and I don't know if they accept porn games but if they do I don't think it's hard to understand what content they accept, simple just download some and analyze it. It seems to me that the unclear and uncommunicative policy they adopt is stressful, therefore I don't think it's a good idea to continue with publishing attempts after having obtained such multiple and incomprehensible rejections. Have a nice day.
The demo was actually approved by Steam — but only after I made all the required adjustments!

And honestly, it’s easy to say that when you’re not relying on the game’s revenue to make a living.

I’m not doing this in my spare time anymore — this is my full-time job now.

You know, some of my reviews here confirm that I am a fan of your project and I follow some other games but I am not one who frequents this environment often, but for the little experience and for what I have seen here there are only two ways to be successful: managing to allude to supporters (and I don't think it's the best way and there are some who are really good at making fun of people) or publishing updates that respect a fixed deadline and not too long (I think maximum two months but there is someone who updates every 15 days and has had an astonishing success). For the rest I don't think you lack skills to orbit in this environment. Good luck.

I had to go back and forth for at least two weeks just to get the demo approved after removing that image.
Believe it or not, that's a good sign :ROFLMAO:. Some people get rejected and then can't upload anything again.
I know a dev who got banned immediately, without any review, just for using the word “college”.

Because in English, unlike in French, “college” implies underage characters — and that was enough for an instant ban, with no chance to explain.
Mmm... I don't think so; it would have been words like "school" or "high school".

"College" is allowed, in fact, there are games like College Kings for sale on Steam.
Do you know if those devs you mentioned had added the “realistic” tag to their games?
I don't remember, but I don't think so. At least, there is no such tag in the Steam database.
Were they able to speak directly with the Steam team during their review process?
No, I can't remember the reviewer's name... I think it's Mary or something like that. She just rejects them, giving a vague reason, and they can't appeal or re-upload something with the same name. It's very unfair, and goodbye to the $100 they spent to get the review done .
Personally, I had to resubmit my demo six or seven times, because each time they claimed the review failed due to “real people in sexual situations”.
Then you're on the right track, and you've got another kinder reviewer!

The best thing to do is send them the still renders used for the animation, so they can see that the characters are not real people.
Would you mind sharing the names of the games that were excluded?
There is one that I would prefer not to share, as the person had to delete everything and simply retired.

The other one was the game "Boundaries of Morality", made by Novel.

You can see their video and the previews they had on Steam (the original Steam page has already been deleted); just click on "View screenshots".

They are continuing with their project on Patreon for now, and hopefully they will go ahead with it.

They already had two games published on Steam before, but the problem here was the AI animations.

Another widely discussed problem is the recent scandal surrounding the game "No Mercy", with rumours of stricter controls following the events that occurred.

It seems like I also had Mary (at least once) during one of my version reviews.
In any case, I’m currently going through all visuals that could potentially be problematic.

I just checked, and I do have the “realistic” tag — at least in the French version, it's available.

The biggest challenge with Steam is the lack of real communication.
You can ask questions or try to get clarity on what exactly is wrong — but all you get are pre-written replies.
No real answers.

Thanks for the link to the archived page — I just watched the trailer… and yeah, it’s super high-quality and realistic.
If they got rejected for that level of realism, then I won’t make it through either.
I’ll definitely have to rethink my strategy and not take any chances with NSFW video content.

I think the only reason my demo passed is because there’s no NSFW at all — not even soft stuff like lingerie.

It’s kind of insane, though — offering an “adult” section and then censoring anything that actually looks high quality.

I think the biggest problem is that steam doesn't have age verification and that's why most countries have problems with adult games.

I know I need to be more consistent with updates — that’s exactly why I decided to go full-time on this project, so I can deliver content more frequently.

To secure things financially, I’m counting a lot on the Steam release.
In any case, the next update will bring a lot of new content and improvements to Episode 1, and I’ve already made solid progress on Episode 2, so the wait between the two won't be too long.

I really hope JASON continues to satisfy you for a long time to come
Thanks again!

Yeah, I call bullshit.

Nothing with No Mercy broke ANY of Steam's rules. Nothing in the game broke Steam TOS.

The dev removed the game, and more than likely did this to avoid being doxxed.

Isn't this a game about a son raping his mother?
that's the theme of it yes but there is a love path I haven't gotten around to playing it yet to see if the love path is just a lesser version of it and just bas bad or if it's truly a love path but anyways this is getting off topic probably gonna be deleted

steam doesn't care about non-con, they care specifically about western porn games that have or imply characters are underage
Like lockheart. He uploaded a game that had characters looking underage (or was it an age selector?) anyway. He was banned
