It seems like I also had Mary (at least once) during one of my version reviews.Believe it or not, that's a good sign. Some people get rejected and then can't upload anything again.
Mmm... I don't think so; it would have been words like "school" or "high school".
"College" is allowed, in fact, there are games like College Kings for sale on Steam.
I don't remember, but I don't think so. At least, there is no such tag in the Steam database.
No, I can't remember the reviewer's name... I think it's Mary or something like that. She just rejects them, giving a vague reason, and they can't appeal or re-upload something with the same name. It's very unfair, and goodbye to the $100 they spent to get the review done.
Then you're on the right track, and you've got another kinder reviewer!
The best thing to do is send them the still renders used for the animation, so they can see that the characters are not real people.
There is one that I would prefer not to share, as the person had to delete everything and simply retired.
The other one was the game "Boundaries of Morality", made by Novel.
You can see their video and the previews they had on SteamYou must be registered to see the links(the original Steam page has already been deleted); just click on "View screenshots".
They are continuing with their project on Patreon for now, and hopefully they will go ahead with it.
They already had two games published on Steam before, but the problem here was the AI animations.
Another widely discussed problem is the recent scandal surrounding the game "No Mercy", with rumours of stricter controls following the events that occurred.
In any case, I’m currently going through all visuals that could potentially be problematic.
I just checked, and I do have the “realistic” tag — at least in the French version, it's available.
The biggest challenge with Steam is the lack of real communication.
You can ask questions or try to get clarity on what exactly is wrong — but all you get are pre-written replies.
No real answers.
Thanks for the link to the archived page — I just watched the trailer… and yeah, it’s super high-quality and realistic.
If they got rejected for that level of realism, then I won’t make it through either.
I’ll definitely have to rethink my strategy and not take any chances with NSFW video content.
I think the only reason my demo passed is because there’s no NSFW at all — not even soft stuff like lingerie.
It’s kind of insane, though — offering an “adult” section and then censoring anything that actually looks high quality.
