Just a bit of information - the leaked version here is the Steam version. Lexie said that a Patreon/Subscriber version update is due later (in november) as per his post on SubscribeStar.

I suspect that the subscriber version update will make it possible for us to continue from our latest saves etc.

See below: Lexie's post from SS, I have underlined the part where he talks about a supporter release. When that hits we will see what progress has been made. I agree the Steam- version and marketing has taking a lot of creative time away from updating the game (too much in my opinion). But hopefully now that it has been approved we will see faster updates and more content.

But my advice is to either have two folders One Jason the steam version and one Jason the SS version, or commit to one of them. I will be committing to the SS version even thogh I might have to wait a little before I get the next update.

JASON has been approved by Steam! #10_25
Hello everyone,
It’s official: JASON has been approved by Steam!
Their reply came in last night (for me) at 3:00 a.m. (UTC-1).
The game will therefore be available on Steam on October 21, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. (UTC-2).
Now it’s time for me to prepare the Steam Keys.
So, what’s next?
Well, funny enough, I ran into a small bug yesterday while replaying the demo —
a forgotten copy/paste that caused an error. Nothing serious, but I want to make sure everything’s perfectly clean before the release.
I plan to deliver the release version (V1.7) by the end of the week.
The supporter release will probably come in November, though I’m not sure exactly when yet — everything’s a bit of a whirlwind right now…
And, well, you know me and dates by now!
But no worries for October 21st
See you very soon!
What are the differences between the two versions?

Steam has forced Lexie to forgo some thing. eg some things can't be as real looking as he would like. He fixed this by making some things look more drawn/cartoonized than photo correct this includes posters and magazine covers but I suspect it includes a lot more and that the Steam version will be slightly less realistic in other ways too, sometimes by removing art all together to save time/skip having to worry about it.

I do not have the full insight and I have not played the Steam version, just seen some comparisons on discord and read what Lexie said there and on SS etc. And from that drawn my own conclusions that I will wait for the Subscriber version.

Hey can you still get swinging/group scenes with NTR turned off at the beginning or do you need it turned on? I am fine with swinging, but the question mentioned cheating so it sound more netorare/ntr than netorase/Nts

Hey the variable in this scene, in the attached pic needs to be fixed. When you pic straight as your sexual orientation at the start, it sets the sexual orientation variable to heterosexual, but in this scene, it checks for the variable hetero, which shows false, so the game assumes you are not straight.

Have you found a fix for this; I also have this issue!
earenestg JohnJohnJohnJohnJohn If you haven't first created the autorun folder:
Control+click the JASON.app -> Show Package Contents -> Open Contents -> Resources -> Control+click and create new folder and name it autorun -> Move JASON.py + JSON.sh + game and renpy folders from the original folder to the autorun folder

Once you have done this try running JASON.app. If it still doesn't run then Control+click the JASON.app -> Show Package Contents -> Open Contents -> open the Terminal.app -> type chmod -R +x in Terminal -> drag the MacOS folder from Contents to the Terminal window -> click return and it should allow you to run JASON.app (after you run it, if it only gives you 2 options: Move to trash and Done -> click on Done -> go to Settings -> Privacy and Security -> near the bottom it should say that JASON.app was blocked to protect your Mac, click on Open anyway).

One could also look at it from a slightly different angle. Renpy team worked hard to implement in an open fashion a "skip text" function into their engine that provides value to players who wish to use it. Dev worked hard to... undo all of that? To implement a design that is actively user hostile?

Not all effort is useful effort, as feedback in this thread shows.
While I understand the concern about user experience, it's important to recognize that Lexie lecoeur has a creative vision for how they want their game to be experienced—especially on platforms like Steam. Yes, Ren'Py provides features like "skip text" to enhance player control, but using the Ren'Py engine doesn't mean the developer is obligated to implement every feature exactly as intended by the engine creators.

The game belongs to the developer, not Ren'Py, and certainly not to us as players. Just like Microsoft builds Windows with certain features and limitations, they don’t cater to every single user demand either. Yet we still use it because it serves its purpose overall. Similarly, if the developer believes restricting or modifying certain features enhances the experience for their target audience, that’s their prerogative.

Constructive feedback is always valuable, but it’s also important to respect the developer’s right to shape their game as they see fit.

Nah, that's just arbitrarily hindering the experience by going out of the way to shut off a standard engine feature. If a Ren'Py game somehow lacked a save system it would not be seen as "enhancing the experience" for anyone.
