Ren'Py - Jen's Dilemma [Ch. 3 v2.0] [SerialNumberComics]

Grindy like no other, and no task list or anything of the sort. Just a hint every now and then would have been very helpful. But the game as it is doesn't even have an end, cuz more than likely you'll get stuck in the middle or even in the beginning

I understand the "grinding" complaints. This is not a point and click to the earliest fap scene you can get to kind of game...

However, I did find it intriguing and entertaining, once I finally got the hang of the "grind" and how to get to the needed triggers. I think many of the "stat" triggers are too high, which causes more "grinding" than really necessary (80 dom points?? That's at least 40 shower and bathroom scenes each provided you don't miss any chances...lol). Thankfully, there's that little CTRL short cut to skip through overly repetitive convos/scenes...lol

If this had a "walkthrough" schedule/sequence, I think more people would find it tolerable... With said walkthrough or even more guided hints, this would be a pretty good "game". The out of sequence events in the story...ie...full on sex in one sequence/path but in the other the same girl doesn't want you even looking at her "funny"... The lack of continuity, sense of order, is rather distracting. But a scheduled walkthrough could alleviate some of the misalignment...

I don't think it's poor because it's a good challenge (maybe too much so for the average F95 user...lol), requires thought and planning instead of just mindlessly clicking choices with colored stat hints. It's not better than average, which is objectively the ceiling for this one, because it does drag on with having to accumulate some high stat values to trigger progressing events, requires repetitive "failures", and the "hints" aren't necessarily the most helpful. They make sense "after you get there"... It's like asking directions from a local who tells you turn left at the tree, then right at the pole, go down a ways, and hope for the best...lol Well, there's 40 trees and 20 poles...lol Still, it rolls along pretty steady once you figure it out and use "skip" to fly through the repetitive "grind".

If you're easily frustrated or want to fap as soon as possible, this is a hard pass for you... Or you could just look at the gallery...lol
If you have a reserve of patience, like "puzzle" type games, or if you enjoyed Leisure Suit Larry from way back in the day....lol, you should at least consider giving this one a go...

People complaining about the grind while i couldn't even get past the menu screen lmao, dumb devs filled the starting screen with gallery buttons, as in plural, cause this is the first game i've ever seen them split the gallery into a dozen buttons on the main screen where you're supposed to have the play button not pushed outside the screen, the upper i could reach was their patreon page that i'm having every reason to not visit ever.. not even a scrolling bar man wtf...

So... grindy.... Grindy isn't always a bad thing, but there is no reason for the grind on this. It's really just clicking through and holding control until you find one sentence that's new so it kicks off the next scene. It's hours of just clicking and speed running through the same text.

The stats are also absurd. You find a new scene that adds the corruption stat, but then you need 80 corruption to proceed to the next scene when you can only get +1 corruption per day. So 80 days of redoing the same scene over and over. Oh look, she walking in on you peeing... again...

The progression is also messed up. Since it takes so long to get secondary stats, you end up unlocking future scenes from love points, or buying items from the shop will completely skip you to the capstone sex scenes regardless of where you are in the story. So you'll fuck both the main LIs, but you're still stuck at the scene where she's refusing to even kiss you.

The story itself is fine, engaging, well written, proper english, the renders are great. But 99% of the "hold control through the same scene 80 times" grind makes this game a no-go.

The grind is real. The "progress" is real slow. This is a real time waster. I don't want to spend a month getting to the next level. The same thing over and over is boring. This game needs faster progress.

I don't get why a game is called 'Jen's dilemma' when you are playing a guy, the little looser brother of Jen and this brother is the MC of the story. The dialog is bad and uninspired like the plot of the story.

this game would have been 4/5 stars if not for the sandbox, its actually torture i just stopped playing because of it, models are good, story is alright, but this is one of the most grindy games i have ever seen

The game is absolutely terrible due to two reasons:

1. It is pure grind without any clues or helpful feedback from the game itself. I don't mind a bit of grind as long as the objective is clear. But in this game the only chance to get any progress is to randomly click around and to hope one triggers the right event at the right time in the correct order.
2. The plot is illogical and inconsistent. On one day a girl doesn't mind to fuck the main character and happily swallows his load. On the next day, the same girl freaks out, because the main character accidentally runs into her topless.

While the girls may look hot, the game play is overall bad.
This game and all about it so so confusing.

Think i will perhaps wait for a Remake or something, with a proper task/hint and game play mechanism.

Why would anyone want to play a SUPER GRINDY sandbox game which absolutely requires a comprehensive walk through that cannot be written because the gameplay is so incomprehensible that it’s not possible. Serial Nutter Comics. The women are pretty. That’s my 1 star. The player is required to jump blind from one place to another in the hope that an event occurs and even where there is a known chain that will lead to such event the repeat grind takes an hour just for that 1 event, 10 images and a grainy animation. Miss a marker and the whole thing goes back to the initial marker. Try again. So frustrating that even with other players’ saves I found it to be mental torture. AVOID this .

This "game" is so bad it forced me out of my site lurking and write a review. Basically 2nd job and grind galore. Outdated renders and no animation grinded for hours and didnt reach any so who knows how far are they...

So if you are looking for 2nd job this game is for you otherwise avoid as PLAGUE

Game gets stuck about 5 minutes in choices dont matter it will only progress after making the choice the game wants.
Useless map system stuck for days pressing the same buttons doing the same actions.

Theres nothing to come for here really, story is boring, sandbox is an insane grind so you want to use cheats or you wont enjoy this, most sex scenes arent animated and the few that are animated are short and poor and bad cam views.

No hint system so you just click around hoping something happens, no music doing 99% of the game.

Its pretty much just kinetic.

Grind, more grind, and then add some grind for good measure. If you enjoy wasting your time I recommend downloading this game. If on the other hand you prefer a game that is fun, skip this abomination.

So, I propose 4 stars to say that those who say the game is bad, don't listen to them. Unless you're like them, and you're content to click without reading anything until scene X. It's a game, not a video ph...anyway, the game is good, and the teasing is very well done, progressive and interesting, which keeps you hooked and makes you want to go further. Especially since the mechanics are ones I like, the scenes progress little by little, even if the story isn't superb, the characters are good and fulfill their role. There's a real game here and each scene is very, very decent. Repetitive, yes it's true, sometimes the score required is too high for the outcome, but that's not the worst part...the horror is the hints to progress...unclear, incomprehensible and you find yourself stuck, lost without the slightest idea where to click or what to do because there's no communication. That's what harms the game, it's such a pity. We're not asking for the answer step by step, but just a little hint and then no problem, we'll search and we'll do it in whatever order we want since it's a sandbox (and a good sandbox at that!). Also lacking in sound, music, other than someone knocking on the door...the models are good and we're not overwhelmed by a bunch of narrative text, or the character's thoughts, the text is just right. No really, the game has its merits. A mod that guides better wouldn't be unwelcome...kudos to the team that worked on it, and I hope they don't listen to the idiotic people who give 1 or 2 stars without making any effort...they're not in the right place, no need to let us know.

The renders are fine. The story could entertain more and reach everyone cause have potential, but if you insist on continuing with your extreme sandbox you will be left alone. If you don't want players to finish each update quickly, there are more options than impose a sandbox of this level. As an example of an easy way to do it is Anna Exciting Affection, there you have it. If you come to your senses and go for a VN as intended in Ren'Py or a simple map like Anna or Amnesia you will have more support. And of course, not even a guide. Sorry but there is no way I can play this. For now this game mode is a huge b*tch and a pain in the a*s that has ruined your entire project.

I just couldn't. This game is all over the place. How do you have a cohesive story without any order to this mess. Sorry I usually have more to contribute to a review but this was just free-roaming bs and badly handled at that. Dev do yourself a favor. Play something better then code. Hell go play Summertime Saga and get a good grasp on how flags work and what steps lead to what in an free-roaming story.

Not a good game. I would use it just for the gallery. May be if its polished and has actual guide. Otherwise you will just buble around wasting your time expecting different things to happen. Not to mention the guide is wrong

Terribly coded. The Dev has literally no idea how to code flags, so the story is all over the place.

Also, what you have to do is very hidden and the ingame guide is a joke.

Most things don't have animations.

Bottom line is, this game is terrible to play.
