yea; if you listen to passersby in the arena they tell you this too
(and also they can talk about how mages get their tentacles and you learn a skill that captures enemies if you get the finishing blow with it)
as for the underdog power fantasy - well I won every main fight and got ending A & B (which appear to be the good ends) on my first run, so definitely possible

how are you even able to play it the game did not even start for me like i see it running when checking the task manager but then i have same trouble for fortnite that it does not start but others programs does (aka i see it running in the task manager but not showing up)

How did you beat the goblins. Even with some light cheating (adding some ap to get more training) I can't beat them. What abilities did you use? They constantly force you into molestation without the chance to defend or dodge and the follow that up immediatly with these all-out attacks, without allowing you to do any action like defend in-between.

I had Wind Cutter, Strong Will, Capture, and Tornado (you learn this by using the aforementioned capture skill on the C- mage), 56 CON 45 STR 82 SKL
Trying to brute force the fight will end badly like the slime, so on the final phase where there's 3 goblins you want to intentionally climax and not resist, then the goblins will climb on to you; climax again and the goblins will be stunned for 4 turns where you can hit them for free
Since you only lose after climaxing 5 times, you can do the above twice, netting you like 8 turns of free damage so you should pass pretty easily; in my run Strong Will -> Wind Cutter -> Tornado -> Wind Cutter deals over half their HP, so I just keep defending in between
