Took a brief look in the discord for first time in a while. It seems he's working on a "side project", looks more CyberPunk or something, totally unrelated to Jess. Also confirmed that the reason the zombie side project stopped is because it used the same Jessica model and he didn't want to have sex scenes in JOAC when they weren't in JOHN

I expect Xmas update at best, and that'll be it for good.

What is JOAC? Is it stopper's new project?
Seems little bit irrational to me to abandon JONN as well known project with solid fun base in preference of brand new one.

These Patreon porn games are all a scam. Just like paying for cable tv and still having to watch commercials. Just dumb.

1. Start Patreon
2. Develop first chapter, release it, and watch Patreon start to grow.
3. Make sure second release maintains expectations and really sets the scam hook.
4. As consecutive chapters are released time between chapters increases and quality slowly decreases.
5. Ensure sex scenes and corruption of MC are delayed or never happen to keep the dogs salivating.

Months end up becoming a year and a year soon becomes years. Developer states not doing this for the money, life gets in the way, I've been ill, etc, etc, etc. It's the same story or variation of the same story over and over and over again. AWAM, JOHN, Mrs. Denvers, APM, Love Honor Betray, My Brothers Wife. I could name more but it's all the same variations of the same theme.

Who the heck pays for anything before its finished? You don't pay BMW a monthly payment for years while they develop a new car only to receive it years in the future do you? You wouldn't pay for the new Call of Duty for years until its release, would you?

These porn games are fun and when done right can be awesome but don't ever subscribe and pay for anything until it's completed.

I do agree with the first part (underlined and bold), but the rest not so much. Most amateur developers need funding simply to be able to work fulltime on their project, otherwise it would probably take them decades to finish it, atleast in cases where the game is either complex or with high quality renders (if an AVN type of game), or both. It's almost impossible to ever finish games of such scale without funding. AAA gaming companies wouldn't be able to get any of their games out without publishers, sponsors and whatnot. A solo developer having to work a fulltime 9-5 job will hardly have any free time or energy left to get much done on his hobby project within a reasonable amount of time.

In stoper's (and a bunch of other devs) case, it's simply a scam as he himself claims to be working fulltime on this game, but then he's doing exactly what you pointed out in the first part of your post while making a decent amount of money for doing hardly anything in recent years. He was very deserving of his support a couple years back, but now it's just laughable. Crowd funding is very much flawed in the sense that they have no way to actually control what the developer is doing, or any guarantee whatsoever that he is doing anything. That's not the case with AAA game studios as they work under contracts and constant monitoring, so they have to deliver. Patreon and other crowd funding models are unfortunately an easy way to scam financial supporters, and people like stoper are well aware of it.

The issue is also from people supporting. If they would all hold the devs accountable, they couldn't do that. When I feel that a dev I support is starting milking, I unsub and never come back. But clearly we're too few in that case.

Yup. Too many naive people supporting bad behavior. Well, some are naive, others keep supporting because they really love what's already there, and in their mind they "save" the game for another update, and another, and so on by keep giving their money away without realizing that it's only reinforcing the devs method of milking while providing less and less.

The update is still cooking. I have some events with crowds in this one, and these are always slow to make, as I have to prepare and pose several characters for every image. And as usual I overdo it, making more crowd than I really need and fixing parts that are not visible on the final images. But it pays off on the long run, because I started reusing these characters for different events. So if something is not visible in one, ends up useful for another. When this update is ready I'm I'll try to find someone to help with that part, preparing and posing random background characters, traffic, etc... I think it will be a good first step of trying to work with someone on the game.

Where is original Jessica? why do devs for no reason think they need to change the appearance of there main characters? was there a poll and this face was voted over her original? i dont mind then changing her hairstyle or color for some updates but to totally change her looks is like who is this new character? yeah shes hot but shes not Jessica
