I agree with you, buddy. I also don't understand when developers focus on minor aspects of the game. In my opinion, the most important thing in the game is the plot and the time that needs to be spent on production. Developers are wasting valuable time by redesigning models.
But this is their game and their choice. We just have to put up with it and take it for granted.

As someone else had already mentioned, upgrading to Gen9 is more than dumb as it's got the least amount of assets available right now. Gen8 would be the way to go as it's the most commonly used one with tons of supported assets. It is, as always, a waste of time and will make life only harder for stoper if he wants to use all kinds of different clothing. I don't even know if he can still use existing clothes properly without having to massively adjust everything. But what else is new....

New model, updating the game's code (which was delayed to the new devcycle, even tho he had supposedly already worked on it previously....lol)

Just more shit to excuse even slower development. Can't wait for the "remaster" announcement now that he wants to use a different model. That'd be the cherry on top of this shitmountain.
