Also, do you have a solution how devs could increase the speed for rendering an animation? Maybe you know a more efficient way/tool or can improve DAZ studio's code yourself??
It is immeasurably fast when you reduce the numbers of animations to zero because I've got zero interest in them. More often than not they don't even loop which gives you one weird tracking shot and other weird & awkward movements. If you can't rotoscope an animation fluidly in a reasonable time frame don't even start.

I will have to agree with this, the animations do not interest me either mainly because i dont really feel they are consequential enough and im not just saying about this game but most where the animation just doesnt feel like it adds anything aside from increasing developing times and when you compare it to anything made by the porn creators who use blender it feels more lackluster. It's like people give more importance to a game which has animations than more content and then complain when deadlines keep on increasing cause of them.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of animations either. If I could choose I would prefer images over animations, because rendering images for an animation (frame by frame) is a waste of time in my opinion.

animations are definitely a nice addition, however it is useless to make fun of us so if you want to make the animations in the game you need to get help from at least one other developer, otherwise the release times are always destined to be those of stoper unfortunately.

I concur. If I could choose between animations or more images for the update I would choose the images. Especially when the text to an image is well written, it is much more arousing (at least for me -> dirty talk and so on).

Well with updates being as small as these ones i'd rather have more images in each update
There are pros and cons.
Pros: for an animation you have to make minor changes in an existent scene/setting (adjusting the hand etc.).

Cons: render time and easy to mess up.

On the other hand setting up a complete new scene with lights, props and posing the characters take a lot of time, and not to forget the scene needs to be rendered and postworked as well. So, all in all there isn't a good balance between animations and more images, if we look at the workload for both.

Imo animations waste more time with very unsatisfying outcome than just setting up more images, considering how many individual images animations contain it requires more time to render them, suppose one image takes 2-3 hrs to render and if an animation has 20 images then it already means ur pc is gonna be rendering for 40-60 hrs while you can't do anything else on it. So an animation with similar images with minor adjustments compared to normal images with differing scenarios is a big waste of time.

I would give this time delay thing a break! I am pretty sure everybody out here is gonna play the game within minutes of the next release lol....I am sure the developer realizes the hassle and issue this delay is creating and will take steps to cut down on it because eventually everyone is working for money no matter what your motivations are! :p

I guess I'm a bit naive about this but I recently deleted the game as I'd added a mod that I didn't like. When I downloaded the game again all my old saves were still there. (I had hoped that they would be gone so I could start again).
Is this because my IP address is recognised from downlaoding before?

Smooth animation is required to make a game feel more realistic. I cannot get excited in non-animation games. For example, Treasure of Nadia and some games increase the level of excitement thanks to animation. If the developer is wasting time on this, I wouldn't complain about it. Of course, these are my thoughts. I respect everyone's taste and opinion.

Lol no! Your saves are stored in your user's hidden AppData/RenPy folder.

I've seen this weird mentality in various people where they need animations to play a game rather than a good story and quality images, i wouldve understood that if the animations were actually of quality but the problem lies with daz which is very bad for animation in general so you are always bound to get some simple loop of animation that lasts a second or two which do not add anything to a sex scene or the whole game in general.

My native language is not English. I did Google translate. Maybe you got me wrong, I don't know. Does a person have a weird mindset when they disagree with you? I didn't say it shouldn't be a good story and quality images. I never play games without stories. I also played in non-animated games. I love the story and images of this game. When it was animated, I meant that I live the story more real. So is the developer of this game getting weird mindset because he adds animation to this game? I mean, if the story is good in a game and has nice animations, it will be a more realistic game. Sorry about my bad English. Maybe I didn't understand what you wrote. As I mentioned, my English is not good. My goal is not to offend anyone. I'm sorry if I'm misunderstood.

I was talking about people who decide which game is good and worth a try based on if the game has animations or not, agreeing or disagreeing with me doesn't even matter. Like I said if animations weren't limited because of daz and we got something on the level of blender or sfm porn animations then it would actually improve the quality alot, but as it stands now the inconsequential loops which lead to numerous delays can't be compared to them. Also regarding realism the plot and renders are more important to make the setting believable than some 2-4 second animation loop.

City of Broken Dreamers has some really good animations. And it makes a really awesome game even more awesome. But in generell, I agree with you. Animations are at max a nice addition and should never make or break a game.

I understand you better now. You are very right in your opinion. In my first comment, I wanted to tell you that I respect the developer if this game is delaying because of animations. Plot and rendars, of course, should be good. Nobody says no to this. All in all, this is an adult game and I think animations are a nice add-on after exciting or high-tension scenes. Poor quality and 2-4 seconds animations are of course a waste of time.
