Ok, I have an observation regarding Blake: If you choose Jessica going alone with her and she already kissed her before in the taxi, the things in the bar happen very fast, there's no foreplay, we don't get more info about her, her hobbies, dreams, job, college, personality, basically nothing. Ironically, when Jessica goes with Connor, there's more chatting about these things, we learn that the café where she works is from her family and there's some teasing with the strawberry, there's more info and more character development, despite Jessica should be more interested in her in the solo path. Blake remains still very flat.

My advice is to put dialogs about the college and the café in that path too and more foreplay before the action, something similar to the strawberry, maybe touching her legs, clever compliments, jokes...
Agree. The solo date with Blake seems too short, even if the sex would have gone to the end. Even when you didn't kissed her in the taxi, the scene is longer with David and his friend though you don't learn more about her and want to match her with a guy

I followed that game for years, until sometime last year, when it seemed like every update I was having to start over due to the new update not accepting my saves, for various different reasons. It was also starting to become more buggy, due to system changes. When it started, it was in RPGM, and it was a great game. When Chapter 2 hit, the dev changed to Ren'Py, which in itself isn't bad, but the way it was implemented just started becoming more of a hassle.
I've put the game on hold until it gets finished. Just my personal preference. I got tired of having to start over every new update.
But, Anna was also my favorite MC and the art in those games is all great.
If you haven't yet, go check out all the short side story games from that dev.
There are several, but off the top of my head...
Hard Exam 1-2...Anna Christmas Gift...Old Church...there was another fan made mini game from her as a high school skateboarder, if you can find it lol...it was in some fan thread.
I'm actually still playing Chapter 1 (RenPy version), I don't like RPGM. So far didn't have any issues at all.

And thank you so much, I discovered just a while ago that the dev released side stories about Anna, can't wait to play them too. Anna is my favorite MC, then Gail from The Office (and updates are slow for that game too).

Looks like the dev of Anna is much better when it comes to updates and communication, am I right?

I'm enjoying AEA, but ran into a stretch of chapter 2 that is, to me at least, unplayable. Jeremy shows up for an extended scene despite being quite dead in my playthrough, then the game outright crashed if I try to turn the hobo down.

Another game of this type that is particularly good imo is Project Myriam. The main thing I'll give props to PM for is you can approach it from a very wide variety of ways. Myriam can be a total slot, hard-core lesbian, loyal wife (while I actually do like having this option, I can't imagine anyone taking it because her husband is such a POS), and all kinds of variants between.

As for this game, while I certainly do wish the updates would be bigger and more frequent, I'm not running into any bugs and I like the material that is there so I won't complain too much.

The dev who did the Renpy remake of chapter 1 is not the main dev on the game and the change from RPGM to Ren'Py has clearly caused them some issues. It'll be worth it in the end, but it's definitely causing some issues.

I can understand not wanting to complete a story that has everyone's attention in order to profit from supporters, but is it really so bad to release content that followers want and just keep adding to the story? The milking the cow to the bone ideal is not really beneficial, in my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong.

At some point it just feels like the author doesn't really care. I'm not saying they need to. It just seems obvious.

But he has a point though. It's his story. I'm sure he has already written atleast 3/4th of it. Cheating scenes will happen when it happens. It's the delayed update the only problem here.
That is not the problem. The problem isn't the lackluster update either. Shit happens and not all the updates are equal, I get it. The problem is he is not showing any signs of something better. He could have just said that I will make it up in the future but he never did. It is just stupid arrogancy.

What's there to explain? It's what the game is. You can decide if it's worth your time or not. If not, I'm sure you'll find something else that will satisfy your needs.
This is exactly what a developer with no passion left would like to say.
Honestly Stoper, KinkyFarmer is right. I'm not trying to troll you or be a bitch, but that non answer is extremely telling. I'm glad this update is complete, and you did communicate that the cheating route wouldn't be significant- so I'm not going to knock you for that at this point. But that sort of dismissive, disinterested, answer sums up the last 2+ months of this game's development. At some point I think you need to issue a mea culpa because this update has been catastrophic, I really don't know what other word to use.

And you don't owe us the mea culpa, but your patrons deserve it. Even if they're totally cool with everything, I think it would be healthy and respectful towards them to put everything out there and fall on your sword. You've discussed the troubles with this update it dribs and drabs, but I don't think there's ever been a comprehensive accounting of the last 7 months.

Not only should you do this for your patrons, but you should do it for yourself. Are you still enjoying this game as much as you were when you started? Do you agree with the idea that your output over the last 6-7 months is a problem? If not, can you explain why? If you do agree that this update has exposed problems in your process, a mea culpa to your patrons would be an opportunity for you to conduct a self assessment where you can figure out what went wrong, why it went wrong, and how to fix it for the future. I actually don't think it's wise for you to even begin working on the next update right away because I suspect that you're probably really frustrated. A frustrated creator does not strike me as someone that is going to do their best work. I think you need to take some time to figure things out, and in the meantime I think it would be professional of you to communicate in detail with your patrons why this update went so awry.

That's an honest attempt to be helpful.

GingerSweetGirl Who else's culpa could it be, but mine? When things go slow, it's because of me. When things go smooth, it's because of me. I'm not disinterested in answering that user, there's just nothing to answer. I've said it dozens of times in the last couple of months, the work on this update was going really slow so it took longer to make. That's it. There's no mysterious reason for the slow update that I'm keeping a secret. I hope things will speed up from now on. Will it happen? Only time will tell.
