- Unproductive due to Covid/post Covid / health / life causing burnout does not equate to lazy.
- He currently has 582 paid supporters and probably a 100K+ non-paid supporters so your "losing everyone's trust" statement is incorrect.
- Already stated that the covid/post covid updates (2) are hopefully one-offs and updates go back to previous cycles which still had the same B$ when it was a day/week/month late.

He call's himself lazy, if you ever supported him like i did then you would know that, based on his conversation's in his discord where he acknowledges his own faults and states himself that an ideal dev time is 3 months.
Being a sucker and wasting your money on a project and dev that has a track record for lying is not something for me, so for those who still support him, I'm not gonna tell them what they do with their money, it's theirs.
But let's not kid ourselves here, this game has the potential to make more than 20k+ monthly instead of the measly 5k monthly with alot more patrons if the dev wasn't so inconsistent so yeah he has indeed lost people's trust which is further seen in his patreon comments when he keeps on delaying the updates.
What your doing is policing when you keep on saying what people should and shouldn't say, if you want to defend go right ahead, but don't cry when people criticize him either.
Most if not everyone here want's this game to succeed and at this point I'd say more than stoper himself.
He has indeed turned out to be a milker, because if you were to look at respectable devs then whenever they have hiccups in the development and need to delay or whenever they don't work, they always pause their patron for that month, simply because they respect their patrons. Stoper is the exact opposite of that.
The current dev cycle is going to be the worst yet, because he has not even completed the past updates so called "Minibranch" and it's been 3 months since then so he has yet to even begin working on anything new.
It's also funny how he forgets to mention in his devblogs that he did not work in december at all and we have to then learn it from discord when his patrons confront him on it.
That's always the biggest cop out and moving of the goalpost every single defender of any game churns out when they have nothing else to say.

He also said that he'll make some rework for the next "major" udpate, at least rework the code that probably will need a restart because of incompatible saves. Don't know if he'll rework some early renders, but it'd not be surprising, it follows the milk... erm the lost motivation/inspiration route.

The fact that you correctly state stoper could be making 20K+ instead is clear indication that the last dev cycles have run into problems that are genuine or they don't need the money which is highly unlikely.
I have replied to peep's critique of stoper with my own. That is not police-ing. That's just discussing/conversing. Do start nothin', won't be nothin'. But if you do, then it's open for debate.
Maybe the project and now stoper's IRL responsibilities are clashing and there is a definite need for stoper to get help, if they feeling overwhelmed but then who and where to get it (trust and adult/porn work taboo) is a also a huge problem for an independent creator. Or now due to the lower subs maybe a money issue or all three.
All I'm saying is the negative vibe in this thread on updates and the
ing on stoper needs some balance in the positive.

on stoper posts in thread No winningit is definately tough to wait on updates for this game. but the reality is that Stoper is very slow to update. the last update was ok if you were on the old farts route. but i wasn't so it was a realllly short update to my game. like many players i want to see new content yesterday but it is what it is. Stoper is in no hurry to put out his next update. fortunately there are many great games on here worth playing in the meantime.

This really goes to show how much 'progress' Stoper has actually made if the only meaningful thing in a progress update was him mentioning that he's rendered Jessica's clothing rack..

There's many threads on F95 where people are happy with how things are going. Threads where this isn't the case are mostly turning upside down due to developers becoming slower and slower over time for no apparent reason, or when developers are being caught contradicting themselves or start straight up lying to their supporters, which in this case has been proven and backed up by facts many times.
Threads like this one are the way they are for a reason. And that reason is not as simple as saying "Free-loaders are haters!" because following that logic, every thread would be a complete shithole, which that's not the case.
That aside, fact is the current dev-cycle is already past the 3 month mark, and so far it seems that barely anything's been done. Yeah great, he's worked on a closet and apparently he's also working on an animation which I'm assuming is for the missing minibranch from the previous update. If I had to take a guess, I'd say it's related to the "hot scene" at Jess' home that stoper mentioned previously. Probably another Conner/Jess sex scene, but who knows.
Sure, would be nice, but stoper himself has made it clear many times as to why his updates take as much time as they do, and none of it has got anything to do with Covid. Not only that, but the arguments he's made have mostly been debunked to being untrue in the past, as mentioned by Tennoujirex.
Also, about 2 years ago stoper's development cycles had already started to slow down drastically, but at that time you'd see way more positivity and actual discussion revolving around the game itself rather than the terrible development speed. Sure, there were people just hating on the game, but you'll always have those in any thread no matter what. Thing is, over the span of roughly 2 years stoper devolved from one of the most respected developers (atleast in my book) to one of the worst.
Literally everything is pointing at another terribly slow development cycle, if not slower than the last one considering he's barely managed to do anything within the past 3 months apart from setting up his new computer with a RTX4090 (which he himself said would hopefully speed up development) and doing "maintenance" on his old computer's GPU within the first month according to himself. The second month he didn't work (while only telling his supporters about it very casually the next month, which one could call hard milking/scam by the way) at all. And now the third month was apparently "bad" because he's got his yearly several week lasting sickness, talking about it like it's some unknown virus from outer space that luckily left his body before dying.
Wouldn't be surprised if all he's got done during this 3 month period is the closet and a couple renders for the animation. So if anything, this dev-cycle is most likely gonna be a 10 month one, again. If not more.
My opinion or thoughts? Barely anything he says is the truth, and he might be working on other projects without telling his supporters about it. And he's not under much pressure yet to change anything as he's on a more or less stable €2000 income on Patreon, which is decent pocket money if he's working on other projects aswell.

I've been building a customized environment in Daz and I can tell you that it's a lot of work. It's a college dorm room that I've heavily modified to fit my needs and it includes a closet with custom clothes. But here's the thing, if Stoper were a reasonable dev operating in good faith, this is not the kind of thing that he would point to as a real time sink. Has it taken me a long time to build? Yes. Does it look as good as I would like? No. But I'm new to Daz, and it wasn't too bad once you find the assets. If Stoper, with all of his experience and tech, is claiming that the closet was really challenging, then I have to question what he's doing. I get why he'd want a custom closet, once you start using Daz it really stands out to you when you see the same assets used in different games without any modifications. But you have to be reasonable and keep things in perspective. Maybe the custom closet will really add a nice detail to the scene, but even the most diehard players aren't going to really pay that much attention to it. A player looks at a render for a few seconds, that's it. If your goal is to produce a product for consumption, then worrying about a closet to this degree is counter productive.
But let's be honest, Stoper is not producing a game for consumption. This game is just a convenient way for him to monetize his art. If he wanted to actually produce a game, there would be an emphasis on completing it and decisions would be made accordingly. No one who actually prioritizes completing a project could justify the delays that Stoper routinely experiences. But if you look at it from the perspective of someone who just wants to make art, then the pieces begin to fit better. JOHN isn't his passion, erotic art and his models are his passion. The game is secondary in every way to his primary goal of making art. From this perspective if he puts together a new update- then that's great; but it's really of secondary importance as long as he's making art.
If you're supporting this game because you want a game and a story, then I think you're out of luck. You should only support Stoper because of the art. It would be more honest of him to treat his patreon page as a way of gaining classic patronage for creating art rather than conflating his art with the tangible deliverable of a game.

in the end the wardrobe only took 1 day, so I don't think it upset the schedule too much.
what I don't understand is the time to get this damn missing branch out.
how many renders will there ever be? it must already be ready.
so the only solution is that the missing branch will come out together with the next one at version 0.60.
So why not tell? why do the development blog on useless information?

Open the folder with the game there every day in a separate folder and there are all renders and views from the first day to the last. All renders are at the same level - nothing has changed at all! Yes, at some point work has been done with the simulation of clothes, etc., but this does not increase the quality of the image itself, it adds realism!If you don't think/can't see/appreciate that the render quality has been improving update after update, then you and I play a different JOHN game.
Stoper disagrees with your "nothing to improve" & "nonsense instead of" and guess what, it's their game so they decide what's important. But you can shut me and stoper up, if you want to churn out some fan episode updates of equal quality for us fellow hungry free-loaders to consume. We're waiting.
And as for the covid, just the opposite, sitting at home in isolation, it was possible to reduce the number of months before the release of the update, but for him (like for many) the opposite - what did he do in isolation while sitting at home?
To be honest, with his income from this project, he could buy a couple more PCs for rendering and render on them while working on new scenes! But that won't happen!
Stopper is a talented artist and he has many projects! Remember the same Paula - where is she now?
I repeat once again - there is no need to defend him, because no one attacks him - everyone has the right to his opinion! And rightly so people say - instead of making a teaser in the form of our beloved Jessica, he shows us a closet full of clothes!
Dude, I give 200% to the fact that if Stopper himself had not pointed out that there are clothes from the game in this closet, then no one would have noticed - because - "and this is reality" - everyone does not care about such details - give as Jessica in different poses with different characters! Give us a preview of the plot!
