I understand why so many people here on this site are just never excited about promising games now lol. Way too many end up with so many branches that you get like one event and then have to wait three years to get the others developed slightly.... looking at you Seeds of Chaos.

From all my years here, i lost count to the amount of promising games that werent trully completed, even forgot a bunch of them that i really wanted to play, now i get excited when i see the completed tag, and still dont trust that tag 100%

some were abandoned, or are being milked to the point that u get a couple small updates a year

most of them are updated regularly, but the updates are so small that after so many years of development they now look outdated, the technology advanced so much that promising games, turned outdated before they were completed

from the ones i have personally suported with money, only akabur and winterfire finished their games

i suported The office, from damaged coda, it kind of got an ending that was more like a season end, and then he started second season with promising ideas, but things slowed until the point that in the last 6 months the only two updates that came out, was a fully paid for, personalized event that had litle to do with main story, and the christmas event (292 paying subscribers, 2 updates in 6 months close to 0 story development)


Echi sensei from blue cat, was ambicious, it had many girls, a big backstory for most of them, to the point that u start confusing who is who, and it overwhelmed the creator, it slowed until it ended up abandoned, now the graphics even look obsolete (still has 76 paying subscribers after 3 years of nothing)

Innocent withces by sad crab, i may be mistaken but, a creator with a very bad rep when it comes to concluding his work, ideas stole from the creators i mentioned that actuallty finished theirs, the last 3 updates were basically bugs fixes, active patreon (3.5k subscribes, 16k a month), for what i see, he used the money people gave him, to create more money milking projects, instead of actually finishing the game people are paying for and want to playthrough to the end

Witch hunter trainer by team borsch, a game i liked a lot, abandoned 2 years ago, the patreon is kept active by publicizing others peoples games (364 paying subscribers, 900€ per month)

i could keep at it all day, but i am starting to get mad, so i am gonna stop here, but please understand, this list is endless, and i am sure other people here could complement my list with dozens of examples from genres i dont like

I stopped giving creators money because i ended up paying the same as an AA game, and didnt even get a completed game, not mentioned the amount of content, but after years of not being worked on, those games still make money for them, its like pleople forget they are bleeding money, or its all part of a bigger scheme to wash money, i just dont care, sometimes i come here, go to latest updates, put tag completed and see if there is any interesting game, i refuse to entertain the thought of paying for what a game might be in a diferent paralel universe
