I never backed a game, financially i mean. But if he was hard working and was releasing updates in some normal intervals i would probably give him some money. I had a lot of fun with this game, and the way stoper does things in the game, render wise and also the attention to detail. His work just suits me. But to pay for something you get to play once a year for max 30 min is not worth money. For free is fine, i play whenever it is released, meanwhile there are plenty of other games to play. But JOHN is like a cherry on a cake for me.

$20Kpa......not bad take per update. Just imagine if the guy actually worked at it.
Some really good, dedicated hard-working devs could only dream of that revenue....

So? Taxes are everywhere, on everything. Still have to earn something in the first place. Most working stiffs don't even do that to start with. ANY business or employee has taxes....but only on turnover or earnings, and we all have costs. It's irrelevant.

What's your point? That it's not enough to live off? I don't know if he ever wanted to at the beginning, but now it's clearly just a side gig. And then for a few weeks of work it's quite well paid

Once a year is far from accurate, with this game, though. It's been so long I've forgotten probably 80% of the game. It's basically at the point where I would have to start a new game just to know what's going on.
And I won't do that until it's complete. And at the current rate, I'll be too old to get a boner by then. lol

Unless the next update completes the game, and isn't a rushed completion, and actually is a good finish, it will then be worth it. NO game is worth waiting a year or more for less than an hour of play.
