I wonder if JSK switching to a new engine will make translation easier.
He is doing the new game on unity.

I for one do not have any experience on translating unity games so there might be a delay on next title on that department, remains to be seen how hard is to apply translations to unity games, but if I have the tools and means, no change, but if I have neither, I'm going to have one hell a problem, as I don't have the luxury of time to learn complicated methods, and I for one do not like the idea of auto translation with a mandatory internet connection, just like Alex below me pointed out, no internet, no translation.

So, if anyone here knows how to do unity translations properly, now's a effing good time to throw me a bone, the faster/ sooner I learn to do that, the better its for everyone needing the translation once the game comes out.

And before anyone suggests Translator++, I have already taken using it into consideration, while also keeping it in mind, that it might not work with all unity games, if it works with JSK's upcoming unity game, then its all smooth sailing, but if not, we're all boned until T-pals figure out a way to do it and teach it to me.

Harder actually, at least in my experience on the player end. I rarely ever see a human translation in Unity except from the actual developer, most translators just use the auto translator for Unity that pulls from Google Translate in real time, which is a real pain for people with a bad internet connection because no internet means no translation.

I'm pretty sure that's just a case of the uploaders being lazy. The XUnity AutoTranslator plugin caches the translations in a text file (which, incidentally, can be modified afterward in whatever text editor you prefer), so as far as I know the only reason it would need to pull all the translations from online instead of its own cache is because they didn't bother to actually play the game before uploading it.

This is what I meant, although I have no idea whether or not you can reduce the delay it takes for the text to change over. The method you bring up is what is being done for the WIP Insult Order Translation.

You can, but it involves getting a better internet connection. Once you have the best internet possible, there is nothing you can do to further speed it up.

In the method I’m talking about, it’s just referencing a local text file, no internet connection needed. There’s still a delay, but I don’t know if it can be made instantaneous.

It can't, the only way to do that is to make it so the game isn't loading from an external file.

the game "Caring for a Moody Niece" have full trnaslation?
Only a partial exists, which covers the main story and most of the lewds (If not, then the updates didn't make it to receiving end), some buttons and non critical dialogue remains in moonrunes.

Once I resume the translation effort, I might take another look at it and polish it up more, but no promises, it all depends how much I have time to spend on this hobby of mine.

You want to volunteer for translations?
You can do it with a software of SWF editor called FFDEC or you can get a simpler method by using softwares created by the translator circle: PyCSV & JAVA GUI parser.
Why don't you join us in Discord? We can explain more there.
sounds like a plan. how and where? I'm already on discord.

Might I suggest the main/head translator here contact JSK and offer to give them english translations of the texts to be used in game. you would not need to have the game code to translate it that way. and then the translation would be official. Suggest he have a button on the startscreen to choose language.

Sorry to break this to you, but we westerners aren't exactly popular on JSK's eyes.
All attempts to approach JSK on this matter have been shot down by the circle over the years. :cautious:
Its brave of you to assume it has not been tried over and over again.
That's why we have fan translated games instead of official ones.:WeSmart:

To be fair, that's a typical reaction from Japanese devs in general to any unofficial work done to their products. Japanese devs are typically VERY opposed to fans doing work for them instead of going to official translators like Kagura to the point that they might even send out a cease and desist order against fan projects, such as the case of Imouto Life Monochrome, in which the dev told the fan translators on ULMF to stop in favor of letting Kagura do it for monetary reasons, though I'm not sure if it came in the form of a cease and desist order or not in this case. I'm honestly surprised, given JSK knows your group exists, that they don't take any action to stop you. It is a pleasant surprise, of course, but it is a surprise.

If Devs don't want fans doing the work they should be doing then they should just translate it themselves. Although considering the high level of piracy back then i'm not suprised he wouldn't bother. He barely gets any sells on the English DLSite as is but that's not surprising since the game is in raw japanese unless DLSite translates it.

Exactly, I totally agree with this, though I do see the point in focusing on official translations once they are actually underway.
