I am completely disappointed with the direction this series has taken.
If the creators wanted to include some new threads, they could have easily done it in the Hard Out series.
I expected the developers to strive to make this game in a few years. The graphics are truly beautiful. I thought it might be the best gay romance game. But I don't think so anymore. A game in which our young hero enters adulthood, perhaps eventually graduates from school, and romances some of the characters, and enters into long-term relationships with others. I was willing to pay even $50 for the finished product if it were worth the price. Now I won't give you a dollar. How long are they planning to make this game, 10, 15, 20 years? I thought that maybe after this game's success, they'd make another one just as good. Overall, my main criticism, besides the spoilers, is that it seems like they're stuffing the game with whatever some fan will pay them for, things that have nothing to do with the main series. In the meantime I have to wait a year for another dialogue with a character you've just dated. Paying several dozen dollars a year on patreon for this approach by creators is pointless.
I spent dozens of hours in this game and thought I'd spend another dozen unlocking all the storylines, but I don't want new main storylines like this.
Are them lacking new ideas? Here you go:
- Selling steroids, distributing. The main character can earn money but also get caught and briefly go to jail.
- Going on a hike, going to the pool, riding a bike, sleeping in a tent, shopping at the mall, going to the cinema.
- Helping with moving, helping with building a house, renovating an apartment.
- Sports competitions, arm wrestling, personal trainer.
- The school cafeteria, delivering goods, or maybe an affair with a courier or a cook.
- As conflicts: an asshole as the principal's son, or more dangerously, as the son of a mafioso.
- Our main character will have some debt and will be able to repay it in various ways.
- Making money at a strip club.
These are the storylines I came up with in 10 minutes.
I'm sad this happened. Another promising story has been ruined. Another year passes, and it's unclear whether the game will ever be finished. I've seen dozens of games and stories like this. Unfinished and abandoning the core style they excelled in. It's a shame, but the direction and style chosen here no longer excite me.
