Yes, unfortunately, due to the nature of the game, if you have maxed out a character, it will be hard to make newly introduced characters a long-lasting experience.

I was thinking that easy difficulty could increase (maybe double or even triple) the amount of love that you get from girls. and maybe increase the love cap to 150-200 (for all difficulties).

So that a new player that wants to focus on a single girl in easy difficulty will easily get somewhere that way. and that the maxing out of stats will at least be delayed as much as possible, since that brings to the situation that you described, where you can just breeze through any new character and story in a few minutes.

You could add unlockable "tokens" that increase the love of a girl as you reach particular milestones, instead of permanent stat boosts.

eg; "X character's item: increases love gain from X character by Y amount."

That would lower the grind with characters that you've already "completed", without affecting the progress of newly added ones.

You could even make those tokens toggleable in some sort of inventory system, so players can choose which grinds/girls to skip, and which ones to keep because they enjoy the progress/scenes or whatever.

I think the main grind is in stats, not in the girls' love points, though you should probably ask the people complaining where they have an issue.

Since a lot of people are complaining about grind lately, and I still have a lot of people that think the game is too easy, I will try to introduce a difficulty system, in order to try and meet everyone's tastes for grind better.

I suggest these kinds of QOL improvements:

• add Hotkeys (check out College Daze for example) - these make the grind at least FASTER to get through.
• reduce the number of clicks/sub-menus where possible.
  • For example, when Melanie likes you and won't reject flirting, just skip to a new menu "just chat, kiss, couch, bed" instead of "Go inside" -> "Try to flirt" -> "How about" -> "kiss, couch, bed"
• definitely improve the usage of "(+new)" which I think I only saw in one place
• make it more obvious what is being missed
  • E.g. most scenes have "(X Roll): Failed" to tell you how to progress, but with, say, Natasha just outright having sex you never know. So maybe when you go to her room it says "(Attraction Roll: Failed)" which lets the player know they are missing something (which is Natasha just pulling you into the room to have sex)

For grind itself, that's up to you. My preference would be fewer actions with greater outcomes: each time you maximally-positively interact with someone, the next interaction should be open. (How many women are actually like "uh no, I have to blow you 7 times before I find you attractive enough".) But that's me.

But that obviously cuts down the "play time" pretty dramatically.

I'm actually hoping its the former because I've long lost patience with games that lock off content to higher difficulties, but worried it's the latter.

To be honest, I used to be a player before I was a developer, and my top 3 games are like the most grindy I've ever tried.

Not that grind constitutes a good game by itself, obviously, but just as an observation

It's the former, there is no lock, but by speedrunning through things you might occasionally miss some content, which is probably not the end of the world and you can always somehow get back to it in a new run

Cool, I'm of the opinion that you should rephrase that to be more clear, but I won't fault you for your preferences.

This might come as a surprise, as they are very different from the kind of game that I'm making, but they sure are grindy.
Just keep in mind that I've also tried to be realistic about my own developing skills and it's my first game. But sure, I can share at least a couple while i decide what the 3rd one actually is

edit: Probably 3rd one is College Daze, not so grindy though

No seriously... I can't catch a break with thoses players.

About this game, i love the evolution system and the progressive corruption. The girls could be better but that depends of tastes...
