Unreal Engine Kalyskah [v0.25.9] [Nobre Lobo]

I played it for a bit. Tempted to support even though I hate Patreon and their pro censorship stances. Couldn't do anything with the barrels outside of run into them and jump on them so I couldn't move the barrel to get the key or whatever. Couldn't find a way to lower mouse sensitivity or invert y axis so fighting for me was a bit confusing with the camera moving all over the place. Love the character design and the general aesthetic. Reminds me of Underworld with bae Beckinsale, my heavily modded Oblivion/Skyrim runs, or BloodRayne.

- gameplay or controls aren't ever explained, nor is there a way to reconfigure them
- has no support of international keyboards, which is even more penalizing with no control config options
- can't properly move while inventory/character screen is open
- animations seem out of sync (enemies hit where I was standing a second ago)
- looks poorly optimized when I watch the temperature of my (modern) graphical card/processor
- no possibility to save

Not going to rate the game since I only reached the area behind the first door needing a key. Looted a chest with a dress. Killed a zombie/undead/whatever. My character got stuck in place at that point, while other enemies appeared and kept attacking, without me being able to retaliate.

Alt-F4 + uninstalled. Not my cup of tea, but good luck with your project.

EDIT : changed my mind to follow the game, since the author of this game seems receptive to user feedback and offering support/fixes. I like vampire games, but good ones (VTM:B ftw). We don't get enough of those.

Thank you for your feedback mate, really appreciated Even though the alt F4 + uninstall may be true, fuck, I do the same when I get stuck and there's no fucking save! So knowing the game I'm developing is one of those, is very important!
Despite that, we changed the dungeon considerably and we have a checkpoint system in place right now, it'll reach the free build soon enough, we gotta give our patrons some deserved love (early builds)

By the way, I had the same reaction when I realized there was no save system, I wanted to kill the last programmer.
And this thread is helping us immensely on knowing what to prioritize!!

We are planning on changing this puzzle, it's more confusing than anything, something more complex with proper directions would be cooler.

The combat was also revamped, no camera moving now

I blocked the 5 exe's the come with the game in my firewall and I'm getting an unhandled exception when I click the 'Play' button. Does this game phone home?

the game its awesome! it leaves me without words dude, but one thing, for ppl with keyboard without number pad it will be good to change the keys for specials events

I believe they switched over to a launcher where you can download the latest builds.
The fatal exception is PC related.
You may need to update DirectX, Microsoft Visual C++ (vcredist), and your graphics driver if necessary.
You can also run the redist found in the game files which is included with most UE4 projects.

We do have a launcher that updates the game and one exe that communicates with patreon (I had to use Python for this exe cause patreon doesn't have C# API libraries). Otherwise, inside the game folder, it shouldn't need internet connection. Unreal might use it for the crash report sender though!

You can always send me the crash report, I could take a look!

Hmm we want to add a customisation option to add some muscles on her. Her body shape might not change thaaaat much but well... we will have female orcs on the surface world.... if you know what I mean

Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver, Underworld, Bloodrayne, Mount and Blade and Vampire the Masquerade are games that served as great inspiration to us =)

The problem is that we would need to make different versions of the animations to fit to different bodyshapes. If we do it with the protagonist, it means that every animation of the game would need those versions, but if we have a race or an specific character with a different type of body, then we can deal with this matter only on the animations that the player would interact with this character.

Thanks for the kind words man, it means a lot

The combat system was revamped, now it's just like the For Honor (from Ubisoft) combat, target locking is the main part of it.
People who played on the current combat system praised the new one, so you might like it even better. I gotta say the new combat doesn't have a lot of features (such as combos or parrying) as we're trying to get it stable and very functional before expanding it, but it's definitely the objective! I can't wait to get some parrying going on
