I downloaded the pre-modded version and everything works great, but I don't like how Karryn just immediately start dripping wet. What .js file do I have to go digging into to modify the rate at which she gets wet?

You don't need to be an engineer to drive a car, but you do need to be one to design and build it. The same logic also applies to games.

Valuable feedback often gets ignored or buried because some "fans" can't handle criticism. They interpret it as "hate" and label anyone offering feedback as a "hater".

Posts like yours frequently mention that "there are genuine reasons to complain", yet rarely elaborate on what those reasons are. That's likely because everyone has a different definition of what counts as "genuine", and in their own mind, everyone believes they're right.

For instance, I personally think this game is horribly unbalanced and unfair to the player. That, to me, is a genuine reason to complain. You might disagree, but that doesn't make my reason any less valid. There are no universal rules or referees to determine what qualifies as a "genuine" complaint, which makes arguing over such things pretty pointless.
Thats the point of the game: being unfair. And if you learn mechanichs game becomes absurdly easy. I would say skill issue.

Spent the time setting things up and I guess the github cheatmod won't work with the new version?

The game's difficulty has nothing to do with what I just pointed out. Try to understand the context before posting nonsense like "skill issue".
Are u complaining about darkest dungeon being unfair to a player aswell? For me game is too easy but i am not complaining about such thing thats silly.

Different people have different opinions, you view the game as too easy, and don't view an unfair game as an issue (just going off your Darkest Dungeon example). I may not agree with everything Purple_Heart says, but what I do agree with is that the game is unbalanced, and it actively takes away some of the fun. Just because you view it as silly to complain about the game being unbalanced and unfair doesn't mean that it IS silly to do so, it's a problem that several people feel strongly enough about to bring it up on the thread. It isn't a big enough issue to prevent anyone from playing and enjoying the game (I assume), but it IS a big enough problem to detract from the enjoyment for at least a handful of us.

Providing counterexamples is fine, debating whether the game is actually unbalanced or not is fine, but just going "Yeah, it's unbalanced, that's not a reason to complain LOL, git gud" is contributing literally nothing to the conversation, and frankly it's just kind of dumb. I can't speak for everyone, but I understand that not everyone has the issues that I do, that's why I try to explain the problems I have with a game in a way other people can usually understand, and if I don't see something as an issue sometimes I'll go "Hey, I don't agree with you that this is an issue, and here's why". Even if you don't agree with someone, there's better ways to go about it than just going "LOL, skill issue" and ignoring everything that they actually said.

Edit: And, for the record, I can't stand Darkest Dungeon for literally that exact reason. It's wildly unfair to the player, which I fully understand is the point, but that doesn't make it any more fun to play. I play games to have fun, and I just don't find games like that fun.

Darkest Dungeon isn't an unfair game either :KEK:. Pretty sure you can literally beat the final boss with a single antiquarian in that too lmao. As for THIS game, there are three difficulty levels and if someone is losing on the easy mode, they should just admit which side of the bell curve they reside on and be OK with it rather than saying the design is bad. It is OK to be bad at a (single-player!) video game.

Easily broken if you know what you're doing =/= fair. Darkest Dungeon is a game literally designed to be unfair to the player, that's part of the game's whole thing, you're supposed to be on the verge of losing the game for most of your time playing. Just because I know the exact locations of every sniper Jackal spawn in Halo 2 and can take them down with no issues doesn't mean they aren't completely unfair on Legendary.

As for this game's difficulty, yeah, I've never said I was good at this game. I have repeatedly stated I'm kind of ass at it. I'm not saying the game design is bad, I'm saying that specific mechanics make the game feel far more unfair than it ideally should. If I have been moving first or second in turn every turn, then I choose to heal, and suddenly I'm moving dead-last with absolutely no way to predict that, that's unfair. That's by far my biggest issue with this game, the complete lack of information about turn order. I have absolutely no idea how turn order works, why I'll sometimes go first, sometimes go last, or even if any of my abilities have an impact on turn order. Sometimes I'll heal first in a battle with an assload of rogues and goblins, who are supposed to be fast, right? Then other times I'll heal and go dead-last when I'm up against nothing but thugs and orcs, who I thought were supposed to be slow.

Thug is charging up their big, heavy-hitting tackle move, they have low enough HP to go down in one more hit. The only real options I have in this scenario are to either risk it and take a swing, potentially letting the Thug hit me because I have absolutely no idea whether he or Karryn will go first, or I block or dodge, which always go first (I assume, can't confirm that because the game doesn't tell you anything about turn order), and hopefully survive the hit.

You've just been knocked down because a thug hit you and knocked you to 0 Stamina, you select Revitalize to get back up. Do you, A) move last, getting groped several times, but getting your stamina back at the end of the turn? B) move first, getting your stamina back immediately, but then being knocked back down because you got hit several times on the same turn you got back up? or C) somewhere in the middle? I don't have a damn clue, and neither do you, because the game doesn't provide this information.

You cannot adequately prepare for any given situation since the game withholds vital information from the player. You have to either have a strategy that minimizes the RNG as much as possible (which I find incredibly tedious and boring) or just wing it and hope you don't get fucked by turn order (which gets incredibly frustrating at times). Either way, it's imbalanced and makes the game less fun, and I know I'm not the only one who thinks that, whether they share my specific reason or not. I admit I'm bad at the game, I don't have a problem with being bad at the game, I have a problem with the game withholding important information that leads to frustration and annoyance. My problem is that the game is less fun as a result of the unfairness inherent in not knowing what the fuck is going on.

Speedran the game again and making this post to be a bit more specific about edict selection than I was in my previous tip compilations. Also wanted to get some screenshots since we have a lot of ESL and honorary ESL people in this 2200+ page thread.

This is a Final Destination locked title Prisoner mode challenge run (the hardest title run imo), and I just set beat my own record by finishing the game going into the floor 5 showdown at level 32...2/3 of the way to the standard level cap. I went for an agility build this time, though maybe my standard strength counterattack build would have been better.

Obviously did the floor 5 boss immediately after wasting one more day resting to roll for the "very well rested" status. The fight was barely winnable. The Captain would do around 1.4k damage every single turn and I couldn't get him horny even with flaunt, also the preceding waves were though. Karryn spent most of her time out of stamina trying to keep desires low. But hey, it worked out OK in the end.

And obviously the spoiler "boss" afterwards was just a meme fight.
  • Karryn masturbated a total of 11 times this run.
  • Not spending that 3k gold I was sitting on either better unarmed offense or maybe bulk food supply for the bonus order to make the pre-boss fight easier was pure hubris on my part.
  • Aside from the floor 4 finish, I would say the roughest part of this run (and all runs tbh) was the floor 2 Staff Room, the one above the all the slimes. That room seems to always spawn 3 FULL waves of enemies and is absolutely brutal.
  • I think im done playing this game for a long while.
TLDR: I beat the game on prisoner mode, Final Destination challenge with a level 32 Karryn and kept her pure enough to qualify for the Holy Empress title though I already unlocked it. Git gud or forever hold your peace scrubs.

If you want to always go first just use agility build. Enemies will even sometimes skip their turn. And you can get a lot of infromation about game from guards and prisoners. Just talk to them. And I agree dynamic turns display would be useful.

To a new player without guides dd is very unfair.

some responses to this in no particular order

I have done a few slut runs, they are nice for getting some very useful titles like the +charm ones, the -order ones, and the sadist+masochist ones.
Also this IS an H-game after all lol
I additionally did 2 of the Descensions, From a Failed State and A Different Mindset, as a slut because the conditions imposed by those runs makes it very hard to win with purity.
Slut runs are way simpler and easier than purity runs, but they take waaaay longer. Most of the tips I posted were about helping people with pure runs for that reason, if someone can beat the game on prisoner being pure, slutty should be easier.
Primary stat for slut karryn is Endurance, secondary stats are Mind and Dexterity. Obviously you want the first energy and stamina edicts too.
Accepting drinks(? or maybe just some other part of the job, not sure) in the waitress sidejob is a good way to rapidly gain endurance exp.
Also you are gonna want mostly different accessories for slut karryn obviously. Should be easy to figure out, especially since you will have more money.
If you have high Mind and can get to over 200% and 300% pleasure thresholds before orgasm using the delay orgasm willpower skill, you can earn two very powerful passives for a slut karryn.
The scariest enemy for slut karryn are slimes because they can basically act as 3 enemies at once while the rest also hit her with pleasure attacks. Try to eliminate other enemies ASAP for this reason so they don't hang around while the slime fucks karryn.
may I ask what do you think is the point of the edict of making enemies NOT cum?

If you are doing a doing a combat build and making use of flaunt (useful if the enemies are too dangerous to taunt sometimes), it could give you more turns to beat them up to avoid getting passives derived from them cumming? But then you would just be getting more turns of them giving you Stare and Talk passives...
In a slut build you could use this to stay locked in a sex position with a specific enemy slightly longer while you try to get the others off manually?
Yeah no, can't imagine ever using this (n). Even if it was FREE, lowering your max willpower means less willpower regen.
