For someone whos playing the game for the first time. What are some beginner tips regarding edicts? I was in the floor above the bar and there was a pretty massive power creep.

buy one of the shop's items that makes it where you need more desire to kiss someone, I can't remember the name but its in the middle row.
The game was rushed and a lot of it is still actually missing but when we look at it in the perspective of is it fun and worth the play and pay or not then the answer is yes just hope that the game can be something like a sandbox so that it can still grow even though its completed.
Also can someone fix the cc mod? The game keeps freezing and afterwards shows that theres an error.
You're kidding, right...? The game offers: rape, reverse rape, more than 5 different fetishes, gangbang, total corruption of the Female Protagonist, minigames, a small little history that perfectly gets mixed with how the game goes (if you reached the ending fight you know what I mean), proper english reading, a VA who made a wonderful job both in japanese and english, a proper gameplay in case you don't want to lose so you're not forced to a corruption route like it or not, a good system of turn based combat let me remind you on RPGM, skill cut ins and animations, a skill tree with a lot of things to do and a gameplay that while doesn't really makes you want to replay from 0, it does the content and proper Corruption of the Female Protagonist...
I am still missing details and so, and you and a bunch of others are complaining about a game that are playing without offering money/support to an indie game studio for free on a pirate website that's basically top tier and hands down the current best when it comes to corruption of a female protagonist game...? And you call this "rushed"... What do you want, the developer to give his entire life to this game...? He already developed a fairly complete game, it's a solid 10/10 and a lot of games and developers need to take some ideas from this (others are inspired, like Saria Reclaimed), and you call this, "rushed"... It's completely understandable that after working for more than 1 year in a game, you get burnt out, and despite that, they made a DLC adding more content after finishing it, and you call it "rushed"... Now that is being delusional...

Dude, you are listing "proper english reading" as some sort of a bonus feature for a game. All the features you listed is basically what a h game needs to have. They are not some sort of bonus features that this developer has invented.
You are assuming everyone who is complaining about the game being unfinished has pirated the game. It is rushed, unfinished, incomplete, whatever. Game is not complete, you can already understand this by playing the game and by focusing just a little bit on the details. Details such as infirmary on first level never becoming accessible. Think about why that might be. I've already written more examples before, I'm not gonna bother doing that again.
A 10/10 game in my book means absolutely perfect game with no flaws. A game so perfect it will never be surpassed even in the future. Your 10/10 game seems like "it is perfect as long as I enjoy it".
I'd give this game a 9 if we are talking exclusively about h games. But if we are talking about games in general, this game is an 8 at best.
Correction, they made a dlc adding missing content after declaring they "finished" the game, and you call it "complete". Now who is being delusional. Also game development for pc usually takes around 2.5 to 4 years on average based on my own observation of the pc gaming industry. Remtairy aren't some sort of game developer gods because they've been working on their game for 1 year.
1 year and they managed a solid game, one of the most sold games on steam, not "finished" if you're going to be nit picky about some parts of it like the infirmary or some levels not having mini games or extra content, as I've said, the game's been cooked for a while and got endings, lots of kinks and a fully developed corruption system which is the main CORE of the game... What do you want, a properly made game that the dev can call "finished" in 1 year, or a Ren'py/HTML game with more than 3 years still not finished...? Personally, I prefer the first option, and let me remind you he made all of this on RPGM, it oozes originality like no other game on RPGM, but if you know a game better than this one, then be my guest and share it with all of us...
Proper english reading is something that a lot of games don't have, if we're talking about H games, and good ones, not many have it, you seem to forget almost the majority of games that have been released have come with MTL, good luck understanding plot, skills, items, proper usage of things and objectives with it, unless you're using Mtool or other translators it can be extremely tricky to play some games...
I don't know about your examples since, personally speaking I am just an enjoyer of Remtairy games and don't care much about everyone's opinion, but seeing so many people complain or want X or B extra thing on a game that most here didn't pay for, it's ridiculous, one thing is suggesting something, the other literally complain or demand something, and I've seen that from time to time checking this thread, I get it, half baked fetishes are annoying, but can people, just at least a bit, be able to appreciate what they have...? Guess not...
I'm calling it a 10/10 game because, if you compare it with other H games... Do they manage the amount of openly spread content, amount of fetishes, a VA's that makes the majority if not all of the conversations voiced, proper Turn Based Combat, core mechanic properly executed and implemented (the corruption of the female protagonist and descent into a slut)...

(I really hope in less time but it'd be impossible)...

Did they get rid of the "cheats" that allowed you to turn off the things you didn't want to see (specifically talking about rimjobbing the inmates), or was that a mod someone had out there once upon a time?

Check General settings and scroll down to disable rimjobs and set it to on.
Karryn's Prison is definitely the best in the "battle sex" genre of RPGM porn games I'll give you that. But if were talking RPGM porn games in general, I would have to give it to LonaRPG, a game arguably more complicated and difficult than Karryn's Prison.

No one's saying this is a bad game, it's a great game but it lacks content outside of battlefuck in late game listen carefully it's all in late game they feel empty yet the map layout suggests contents have been planned but cut out probably due to lack of motivation or ideas.
Which is understandable because it's developed by few people, yet it doesn't change the fact it's rushed. Like the infrimary or the Gym DLC (the latter is probably due "writer's fatigue") for example when i first played the game back when it was on version .4 or .6 i got excited when i saw the infirmary, i thought it's gonna have a nurse side job like in Melty's quest but it didn't come to fruition.
The purple_heart guy is looking at this objectively that's why he gave it an 8/10 when looking at it being just a game but when it comes to a h-game it's 9/10 cause there literally no game that can beat Karry's prison right now in terms of gameplay. That's it, there are no haters these are valid criticism.

What's the Gym DLC suppose to do? I tried it but seems like I'm doing something wrong. There are no scenes happening besides Karryn going in different posing while the inmate works out, they don't react aside from their dicks getting hard and no sex scenes happens. They seem to leave too quick after some round so I can't really fill their bars.. Is there some sort of strategy? I tried going for one person only, then 2 people back and forth still nothing. I thought it was an end thing too, like the prisoners that Karryn helped out will gangbang her in the shower later as "thanks" but it seems like you can't even get to the shower. Am I missing something?
EDIT: I did miss something, so you were suppose to do it multiple times to unlock some moves. LOL Now if only it included a shower minigame after the Gym that would've been perfect.

Related to the comment above mine, will doing the gym stuff just make the final boss hard for you? From looking around on this forum, it seems that the final boss needs to cum 99 times if you want to do it the sex way. Unless this was changed, my fairly weak super-slut Karryn is really gonna struggle if that's the case. And aren't the willpower skills you get from doing them basically making combat harder for sluts? Weird.

The thread itself is already almost 4 years old, which means the game was worked on since that time, likely even before. Originally DLC weren't planned but the Steam release was a huge success to the point where it was worth working more on it. Sure, LV1 and 2 have more content than the others, but saying it's rushed is... brain dead level.
Yes we could have nurse or teacher stuff, but this game is far more ambitious than Melty's Quest and many other lewd games. The amount of games we've been getting that are inspired closely or not by this one should tell you it's not a rushed game. There's a ton of content and it even has modding support, can you say the same for most RPGM games? I know I can't.
I agree with everything you said.
But people are acting like it is a bad game. People are saying they will never buy a Remtairy game again, calling the game "unfinished", acting like Rem stole money from them. You can go back through the thread and read scores of examples.
There is a difference between valid constructive criticism and just trying to tear something down. And we know it is affecting Rem's psyche, as Rem mentioned "foreign reception being negative" and it affecting them.
That is a shame, because as mentioned by you this is one of the best H-games ever made. We want more like this game, and anybody acting like this is an "abandoned game" like some of the other games you can find on this site that never made it past a couple months production or past their earliest demos is just displaying what amounts to a childish temper tantrum.
We want Rem to feel proud of their work, despite whatever shortcomings. Because the game is currently one of the greatest H-games ever made, and they deserve to be proud of that. Then hopefully they can carry that positive energy into whatever their next project is. We also want Rem to have positive memories of this game, as that presents the most opportunity for them to circle back around later with new inspiration and add stuff. People who are incessantly complaining, once again not people like you who respectfully list valid points of criticism, are sawing their nose off to spite their face.
