...I don't assume anything...Ironically, you assumed that author don't care about pirating the game and will never change his mind,...
You assumed dev put anti-piracy measure(on a wip content that isn't even playable), so you can call it a DRM that was "cracked/bypassed" when it's not, just so you can call it "piracy" when it's not.
I gave you several points that support the dev's intentions have never been to fight against piracy, so there's no reason for you to assume the demo barrier is a "anti-piracy measure". From his own words to his actions show that. You're free to go ask the dev if he cares for piracy or not if you're still clueless about his intentions. And while doing that, also apply to become a mod in his discord as you'd fit well with other mods there.
And finally, Github doesn't decide the law on what's copyright infringement when it comes to game modding nor does some EULA from a random trash game which you also falsly assume is 100% enforceable and throws fair use out of the window. That's not how this works, buddy, there's a reason this is a legally gray-area and done on a case by case basis. You may not care about morals but most reasonable and logical people do as we don't want companies fucking over consumers just in their hopes of maximizing profits.
...Pay for a product because you want to support it and enjoy more of it in the future...
Funny thing is I intended to buy the game at release but KP mods told me I can't "pirate" demo build and get a glimpse at the WIP unplayable content, that I had to either wait for release or pay for subscription on the shitty Patreon site. Lol, Idc how much I want to support a dev, I'm not giving a cent to Patreon
