An advice for anyone having trouble finding, or even going to different rooms (or maybe to save time): "Use fast travel"
(Not all the time though, sometimes an event trigger is on your path to a place, if you fast travel, you'll miss it and the event won't trigger, like the one for meeting John before going to class, but most of the time you can use it.)
