I checked back on this for the first time in, uh, three years? I feel like it should've been further along by now.
Anyone know about a map or how to get to save points? It kinda feels like there's 0 direction or information for the player upon dropping in, and the fact it sets you all the way to the start upon a death just kills any feeling of progression

The map got implemented in this build again ^^ you can activated it with Tab or the menu button on a controller! Rooms are revealed when you enter them.
There are savepoints along the way, they are marked on the map with an (S) but you have to look around or you might wander past them, too.
When it comes to directions, putting questmarkers to give you a direction to explore towards will follow :3
Another game kneeling down to the Patreon overlords instead of sticking on the road they started on.

I see a lot of people blaming Patreon for the changes to the game, and yes, many games do change direction because of this, but as someone who's followed this project for a while I would speculate that the changes are mostly, if not entirely, an effect of the developers shifting the game to better match their own vision.
It seems likely that the original direction of the game was a result of the developers noticing that RoR mechanics were "the thing to do" for side-scrolling porn games, and implemented those without thinking much of it. That is, until the game started to unfold and they realized it strayed a little too far from their ideal vision.
On one hand, good on the developers for following their own visions; many devs burn out because they focus on pleasing everyone until they're no longer interested in their own game. But it certainly does feel like a knife in the back to those who followed the game for its original direction, especially when the developers get to ride the wave of that initial popularity into the new vision.
And then there's the question of whether the devs were simply naive and dove into their first complex project with poor planning, or if they were outright exploitative and the initial direction was a deliberate marketing strategy. As much as I want to believe the latter to justify the feeling of betrayal over the direction change, it is admittedly more probable that all this is a result of the developers going into this project without a clear, concrete vision of what they want the game to be.
Doesn't absolve them by any means, but it's an easy rookie mistake to make. I just hope they learn from it and make sure to do proper, extensive planning and design for future projects.

I don't really get any of the complaints about the last update, I never got the feeling that the game was meant to be entirely non-con from the older versions and like if you want proper non-con content just go play any of the hundred or so other games on this site about some fair maiden getting her shit rocked by every living thing in her zip code. That said I do wish the defeat CGs came back, either as actual defeat CGs or repurposing them to be like a quest reward or smth.
Overall the game plays better, I like the new map overlay and the actual new map isn't too hard if you just remember to go back and save once in a while instead of trying to power through to the next savepoint. I will say that the levers blend in too well with the environment and the goats have way too much health compared to everything else. Keep it up dev!

So I think I'm trapped. I'm in the blue quadrant of the map, but I can't find a way out, and I've already gotten to the rift with all the goat boys. Is there a way out or am I stuck?

Just tired of devs in 2023 deciding to be pussies and backing out of it. This and Crisis Point Extinction were perfectly fine and enjoyable, now I gotta go through an extra step to get to the only reason we play these games instead of it being able to just happen like it did before.

you have to go and actually play the game for 5 seconds longer wow, enemies dies so fast that its not really a problem? only one i can see being troublesome is the wolf but if you really dont want to play the game that much, just go watch any porn video of the game jeez
