Anyone know if the 'Incredibly Powerful Magic Weapon' guarding the stairs is supposed to be beatable? I cheated, and there is dialogue and a room with special loot if you win. But how the tf are you supposed to beat a guy that can lay down 75k damage attacks legit?

Easy. He uses it like all 4 rounds on a single ally. If you have 4 people in your party, you can defeat him before he takes out all party members.
You're not expected to beat him before Chapter 8 either. I saw someone doing it earlier, but when you first meet him it's not really possible. Strategy-wise, like the above poster says, it's best to go offensive on him (I think he's weak to dark?) other than your tank. There's a bit of luck too, sometimes he uses that move often, others only once.
Ah, I see. The superbosses in Demons Roots looked more possible at first glance
. This stupid thing could probably smack ultrabeasts, and they have him guarding stairs.

sadly it has been delisted 23th of February 2022 and it never had any update on steam
i think it was a fan translation from what i heard might be wrong though but it is waaaaaaaaaay better then the old one regardless
Yes it is AI. The translation is kinda bad sometimes but is serviceable most of the time, I played with it and its become one of my favorite games of all time

I'm having a problem with fullscreen in this game and other RPGM VX Ace games and I'd really appreciate some help/clarification:
I could've sworn that when I played it months ago I could go into fullscreen no problems, idk what happened.
- Alt+Enter just freezes and then crashes the game
- F5 expands the 640x480 window to a bigger borderless window, but only half of the screen, I can still see my desktop and task bar bellow.
- And F1 "fullscreen at startup" doesn't do anything.

Finally a plot summary lol (digging through the thread lol). The game really is story HEAVY and is MORE DARK than demons roots, demon roots is mixed of light hearted moments with some dark themes. While this is more on the Dark themes and a little bit of light moments.
Thinking back to demons roots, this story (I still have not Finished this game) seems more cohesive than demon roots.. Since demon roots suddenly introduced extra dimensional beings and beings from the future (time travel also) or some shit (Diana, the cop woman IIRC). The big plot hole in this game though is where is Polka's allies at this point of time (I KNOW THIS was made before demons roots). Specially the Trap Guy in DR, he was destined to be king of some empire or some shit, did he just decide to not intervene with the happenings in this game lol (in DR to keep the games tied together he assassinates polca when she goes full rage mode and kill all humans grindset). So canonically that is what happened in the original timeline, in the DR timeline polca got happy ending and FATE still twists that there be war between humans and demons. I hope the dev remakes this game with more connection towards DR and more CG for this game. While this is the dev's first successful game, the CGs really are extremely STATIC and most of the time it's just one image with no changes with walls of text describing the H scene lol.
I started the game thinking to play a bit for the plot but damn the PLOT WAS LONG. The game is also divided into 2 sections the past and the present timeline so it makes the thing a bit muddy at first glance.
TLDR: For those looking for a quick wank, this game is NOT for that. But the PLOT is GOOD and gameplay is alright for RPGM standards. The scenes are extremely spaced out between long game play sessions (30 mins-1 hour or so before next CG scene depending if you read story, why would you skip story in a story focused game lol).
It is, maybe 95-99% legible/readable/understandable. You will get the core of the story but as with AI TL it might make some mistakes with some gender for characters (some males might get called she, vice versa) or some more niche JP words get translated into an unintended translation like for JP puns and whatnot (minor nitpicks not worth worrying over).

DR is notably a prequel and the fight against Geolouise in the NG+ of DR as well as the visons of her when her dad touches the legendary shield in the final chapter does imply she likely did find some way to deal with the blessed curse in her timeline heck the fact that the power up of the king's mark she got at the end of the game applies retroactively in NG+ of king exit making all those routes "canon" also likely means DR could have been directly or indirectly caused BY Geolouise
Probably the demons dealt with Blessed curse when they were in power and before they got rekt by the suicide squad. Since it was told that the demons were the dominant power when they were in power and humans were close to extinction. In the bad ends of Kings exit there was even a question why the demons were gathering their power and for what reason (we know it is to kill Blessed curse in DR).
So the actual answer is this game was made before DR and blessed curse as a concept was not yet finalized. The probably lore answer is: Blessed curse got OFFscreened killed. Do note that His existence as the blessed curse was not widely known, he is only known as the emperor (or some other title I forgot). Since it was implied that if the demons go Full EVIL in DR they will be able to DESTROY Blessed curse but will be on a path to destruction as well (since the remaining humans will retaliate and genocide them out of revenge).
One of my criticisms for the story of this game though is how they handled the suicide squad (3 Male party members) role. They got shown to be GeoL's party members/ most trusted allies in the first flashback. Then back in the future they got Killed offscreen (they are already dying when they returned to GeoL). Then throughout the game we just get the "flashbacks" of how great the rest of the suicide squad was.
Also how the last remnant that possessed yellow girl's dead body was able to machinate the events of KE. Even though humans just survived oppression from demons and killed all of them (except one who survived). Like she can hide herself from being a demon and managed to influence the corrupt kings and rulers in the KE timeline to commit infighting. Being a master strategist that was able to achieve such political control in such a short period of time (I think it was 10-20 years max after the demons got killed).
Suddenly the suicide squad/ All of GL dragon knights got tricked into an ambush where they got wiped out is such cheap writing (well this is their first game that became successful). DR writing is much more coherent and better (although there are also shitty aspects such as the time travel, multiverse shit, and other stuff and the different tone from the base game: the bad end dungeon and the happy go lucky fuck carnival).

I fucking hope there is an alternative to CC companies when it comes to banking (yeah2x there is crypto but it's mass adoption is very unlikely). Kinda like Japan has their credit card/banking companies for domestic purposes and they use that for DLsite. Shit's fucked, the ELITES want people to keep making babies to keep the ECONOMY going so it is in their best interest to BAN PORN/ Porn games. They need their worker drones to rule over. Yet what are the options for most males? Most people playing H games/ watching porn are those who are outcasts, those who failed to find love. Plus the economy is fucked. Having kids in this economy would hit the finances of majority of people by the quality of the salary offered.
Breads and circuses, entertainment is one of the things placating the masses, take that away and restrict it and society will be one step closer to revolt. This is not just "HAHA gooner is mad porn games are banned", think back to the US prohibition of alcohol. The backlash was so great that there were illegal shops selling alcohol and the ban was quickly lifted due to the protests of the PEOPLE. The same logic can be applied there "alcoholic is too addicted to alcohol and cannot take the banning of said substances". You cannot make the world shit to most people and also take away their entertainment.
