I'd rather not say anything. Whenever I talk shit my comment gets deleted for trolling or spamming. Idk why, but I agree with what you say.
I know the feeling, imagine being that way for reviews on shitty games...no criticism and being banned from even commenting

Getting onto their discord or patreon involves giving money to them, again :KEK: I learned my lesson with regards to this dev.
I didnt know you had to pay to join their discord, then again i dont really view kickstarter/patreon games too kindly, they are especially when its about porn,a trap meant to milk your hard earned cash.

Its time for people to throw the patreon trash to the bin and only pay for completed games again.

It is abandoned for now. They were supposed to be updating it so it could show all quests when you make a fresh playthrough.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Devs never stated that they will include old quest's to the quest log, (check the change log for v.11.) But for now, the feature is relatively new and fully updated to the latest version, that means it's not abandoned.

Why bother having a quest log if it won't show all the quests? And yes as a matter of fact, Nomo has previously stated in their Discord that the quest log would eventually list all quests as they come up for fresh playthroughs.

That's something they should've added from the start. Same goes for the repeatable and modular scenes. I doubt that any of those features will get added in the near future, simply because it's a huge amount of work to integrate it with the older updates.

well, add it to the long list of other obvious features the game should have. idk, when I check this thread I always feel disappointed, furious and hopeless about the future, but I like KoD too much to let it go. it's almost the same feelings I have for my dad

Yeah I agree, having a quest log without adding all the quests is pointless. And thanks for clarifying and sharing that discord info with us. But still, my last point still stands, the feature is still being updated and whether or not they add the old quest's in the future, it's still being looked on and not forgotten, therefore it's not abandoned.

I probably didn't express it well enough in my last post, but i simply don't see evidence of malicious milking from them yet. They did bury their heads into the sand for a long time now, but it seems to me that they want to keep developing this game. Regardless, you are right when you say that they have to change their ways, because the current state does not help anyone.
Yea that's what I felt as well. I don't think they are deliberately milking their patreons. It just happens due to mismanagement/overpromising and they aren't *too* fussed about it, to actually do something about that.

Not like this would excuse anything going on.

I honestly don't get these opinions. They accept donations, they aren't charging you for services rendered. You are giving away your money in the hope that it will turn into a game. The reality is it's a passion project and passion comes and goes. A 3 month estimated update could take double or triple that and be completely normal. I get that we all love the game, it's probably top 3 I've played on this site, even the very small amount that's finished. But that's why I'm following the development, if anyones having a problem paying for a dream, paying for hope, they should cancel, but even paying at 1.5$ for years seems worth the risk to me. Nobody can complain about milking or slow development for something they've opted into, that's not criticism, it's just whining.

They don't need an excuse for anything since they don't work for us.

I think the main problem is that Hreinn don't have a work schedule. When they work in the patch, they are like "Yeah, this could be good, and this too could be good" This is making delays and they just simply can't say anything about the upcoming patch, why? Because not even themselves know that. This is not an excuse, just if you guys misunderstood. Its a fucking big problem, you can't work without a plan, otherwise, you will end like this game

The problem is (and this is delving into a long debate on what patreon is used for vs what it's supposed to be used for) that game developers on patreon often treat it as payment for the game instead of a donation to support an artist.

Patreon is mean to be a way for a group of people to allow an artist (whatever form that art takes) to create effectively as a donation / support for their work in general. This is obvious if you know about the origin of the word patron with regards to artists. Rich people paid artists to work, and often work for them. The artist would be able to create their art, and the rich person would get fame and prestige for supporting said artist in addition to personal works specifically for them.

What has happened instead is people using patreon as a way directly gain access to a full project / artist's catalog. This is both due to how patreon is structured with rewards in addition to how people set up their patreon accounts. There's also the fact that it's hard for a general user of patreon to see if reporting a project does anything why a project fails to deliver. Note, even if you're not a supporter you can report them.

Last thing, as has been covered many MANY times, anyone is allowed to criticize, complain, and bitch about how a project (game, book, whatever) is being run / developed, and people love to bitch. Mostly you don't expect anything to change about it by complaining, but it feels good to complain and get the complaints out in some way. Paying for something is NOT a requirement to complain, and gate keeping who is allowed to talk about something negatively is really quite a bad path to take.

Now, I'm not trying to start or continue a flame war about patreon in general. And honestly I'm not sure why I decided to write this out (basically again, in this same thread).

Just going to leave this here for people who think game developers on Patreon are exempt from criticism and complaints because they are accepting 'donations'.

Let us not forget that in Hreinn's case, they have promised faster updates multiple times and they have failed to deliver them so far. One definitely needs to be held accountable for such kind of behavior.

My intention is not to start a flame war or 'whine', I couldn't care less about what these devs do with this game anymore. It's their game and they're free to do whatever they want, they seem to have enough faithful followers to do that anyway.
