Hi everyone! We hope you enjoyed 0.7, and we’re excited to be providing more content for you.
Please keep in mind that we did already source a lot of information from our last post on this topic - but this feedback post is more on the mechanics and managing of the tents coding and art wise.
This is your chance to give us your specific input of what you imagine as fun with regards to managing the tents - we already have some firm ideas we’re excited to flesh out, but we just want to make sure we’re focusing our efforts on what people will like. We intend Sabia to be able to make use of the relief tents for not only the orc camp arc, but for the rest of the game. She’ll be able to manage them for information gathering, using them to help any soldiers and forces she might acquire relieve themselves of tension, as a place to send female enemies, and even participating in them by herself.
To that end, here are some points to consider for feedback and suggestions:
- Do you want to see minor unimportant characters in the tents, or only major characters?
- Do you want to see Sabia being able to train the catgirls or future girls from other races? A more dominant Sabia can punish them, and a more sub Sabia might join them. Would you like to see her be able to train personnel?
- How much control should Sabia have on specific characters? Change their outfits, influence how they service their clients, etc?
- Managing the tents: should Sabia be responsible for all characters personally, or should she have a ‘liaison’ of sorts that gives you all the information (i.e. statistics about how the tents are going, the girls you have working there, etc), and you distribute all the requirements/commands from?
- We’re thinking of adding a slave trainer mechanic - a dominant/slavery Sabia can enslave characters, and train/extract information from them (similar to the Riven mini game from NN). Do you have any comments or suggestions on the mechanics of something like this?
- Do you want to manage the actual tents? i.e. making the tents a progressively better place that is capable of attracting more customers, and unlocking more options - for example, buying better furniture, a new stage, having a supply of food and drink. Or just managing the girls themselves, and leaving this to the background? (This is an important question, because the options to do all these things will be intensive both artwise and coding. We only would want to invest the time and effort into this if it’s wanted.)
- One of the ideas we have involved the girls that will be working in the tents: they can either be important and story-involved characters, or a more background type of characters that are only important in the tents. In the case of the latter, we have discussed the possibility of having the character as a sort of ‘generic base/sprite’,similar to the current orc base/sprite, that you can dress up in different outfits, and see different CGs based on tent stat development.
So would you want fewer unique characters or more generic ones.
Two important final things to consider: we want to focus on progressing the story above all, not just spending several patch cycles on a tent brothel simulator and; as much as we would love to include everything, doing so would be disjointed and bloated, and take an excess amount of time and subtract from other facets of the game.
Based on all these points - or maybe a suggestion you might have - what is it that you want to see the most from Kingdom of Deception?
