25 USD a month (300 USD a year) to get a little exclusive content is just too much.
Sure, but as we know, Patreon revolves around incentive for people to give money. Take my favorite example, Re:Maid, by Marble Syrup; the "full game", which includes cheats that somewhat modify the storylines, is only available for $10 patreons or above. It's a lot to pay for a single Visual Novel (even though that one is top notch imo), but it's a lot to receive as a "thank you" for supporting the project.
The way I see it, these high cost rewards are only a way to distinguish the most "loyal" patreons from the others, not really a reason to pay top dollar. Besides, they release their latest version only a week after they gave it to their patreons, so it is truly up to you if you want to give back. That extra-scene is their only way to acknowledge their supporters while still "giving away" their game.
At any rate, I do hope no one here would try to justify piracy because "x is making enough money". We're all jerks on that level, there's no need to deny it.
