On The Way | Progress Report
Hey everyone!
I have a few things to share today so I'll break up the topics for you to skim through!
== Beta 0.5 Progress ==
I'm happy to announce that the NSFW scene for Beta 0.5 is complete! In case you're unaware, the artist hit some personal obstacles that interrupted his ability to work on the game for a little bit.
It sounds like he's doing well and has gotten all caught up now!
Thank you all so much for your patience. I'm sorry this update's taken so much longer than anticipated.
== Beta 0.5 Release Window ==
The NSFW scene still needs to go through animation. Usually, animation is a fairly speedy process but with the holidays and with this scene having a few extra 'spectators' in the scene (attached screenshot), I have a feeling it may be difficult to have that done by the end of December.
If the release does go into January, it will probably be pushed back a couple extra weeks. January is pretty open on my schedule so I'd like to be able to continue working on this update & polishing it as much as possible.
Expect a January release. But I'll be busy during this next week to see if a December release can still be met.
I'll let you all know before the years over but to be safe, make sure to adjust your pledges before the monthly charge occurs!
== Additional Artist Search ==
One thing I've started doing moving into 2025 is getting an additional artist to help out with NSFW scenes. I think this will make a big difference trying to make sure there is an ample amount of content with most KoP updates!
However, that's not always very easy. It's challenging finding artists who are willing to commit to such a lengthy project and are able to match a style that resembles the game.
My goal is to find an artist who's style compliments KoP and doesn't create a noticeable visual inconsistency when players discover new NSFW scenes.
Nothing is set in stone quite yet but the search has gone well so far. Fingers crossed! I hope to share some more positive updates with you all soon.
== 2024 Recap ==
This year's been quite a rollercoaster for KoP.
I'll be honest, I have plenty of moments where I really feel like I bit off more than I can chew with this game. But then I release updates like Queen Eliza's and feel a happiness that completely renews my passion to keep this game going!
Overall, I feel like I'm finding a good stride developing KoP now. Of course, there was a bit of a stumble with Beta 0.5 at the end of the year but everything seems to be getting back on track now!
I look forward to what 2025 brings for KoP (& beyond, maybe?)! Thank you all for sticking with me on this journey!
